How's the crowd level in November + ? about quiet resort

Let's get straight to the point.

1. How's the crowd level in November? I just got back (first 2 weeks of December) and according to several CMs, there were days that MK were as packed as 60,000 people. It was as packed as during my past trip during President's Week in Feb 2004.

2. What's the least crowded 2 weeks in November?

3. What is the quietest Moderate Resort at The World?

I went the week before Thanksgiving and it was the least crowded I have ever seen it...no wait was longer than 15 minutes. (I used to go in August and I went Thanksgiving week once). It started to get crowded on Friday/Saturday.

I like the 2nd and 3rd week of November at WDW; the Jersey Week people are usually gone, the Food & Wine Festival is going on, and a few of the holiday decorations are up and I love seeing those. We've always left at least a few days before the Thanksgiving holiday, with one exception where we flew home on Thanksgiving day. Those few days before get a little crowded as many people will take the 3 days off to get a full week holiday. The first 2 weeks of December used to be very slow, but so many of us bragged about how great it was it has become more popular!

As for a quiet resort - any of them can be quiet or noisy we've found - it depends quite a bit on who your neighbor is. My favorite is Port Orleans Riverside, as the buildings are spread out a bit and I love the grounds and the main building's food court and Boatwrights.

I'll have to agree with ahutton and DisneyAddict M - the week before Thanksgiving, which is when we went last month, was the emptiest I've ever seen it. We rarely needed FP's and most waits were 5 - 10 minutes - wonderful! The temps were mostly 75 - 78 degrees during the day, which was terrific, too - no sweating! The only downside for us was that we only caught the last day of the F&WF (which we love), but we enjoyed as much as we could fit into our tummies on that day! Only problem is that next year, that week won't be off-peak anymore, but regular season, from what I've read here...

I've never had a problem with noise at teh Caribbean Resort or Port Orleans Riverside. I have had MAJOR problems with noise both times that I've stayed at the Coronado Springs resort. Those walls are paper thin and you can hear the people next to you, above you, outside, etc. It was horrible!

I was actually thinking the same thing - maybe it'll be worth the extra money if fewer people show up that week!

Anyway, F&WF is the Food & Wine Festival at Epcot's World Showcase.

I wouldn't count on that - Disney wouldn't have changed that time to a different season if they thought that it would scare people away. There is enough going on then - Jersey Week, Epcot Food and Wine, Super Soap, Veterans Day, Festival of the Masters, etc. to keep the people coming.

"Jersey Week" will be during the second week of November in 2005.

It was our first visit so we have nothing to compare it too but on our second to last day we circled through TOT at mgm 8 times without so much as a 5 minute wait. That was the monday after Super Soap Weekend (I think).

I just had to put in my vote for Port Orleans French Quarter as a very quiet resort. We just got back last week and loved it there! We had a connecting room with my brother, SIL and 2 year old nephew and never heard a thing from their room unless the connecting door was open. Even when my nephew was crying we never heard him.

I really liked POFQ because it was smaller...from what I was of Riverside it was HUGE. They even had shuttles running to the bus stops! I liked being close to everything and everything being a short walk. Food court, pool, boat dock and bus stop. It was perfect for us.

While I like to stay at different places, our next trip to WDW will definitely be at POFQ again. It's beautiful and "homey" at the same time.

We went Nov 6th - Nov 12 this year - it was the week after Jersey Week and right before Soap Weekend - and we thought the crowds were great. They were up a bit from previous years but we did everything with either a 20 min or less wait or using a FP. The F&W festival was wonderful!

We just booked for Nov 27, 2005 as early November is no longer Value season. Nov/Dec is definitely our favorite time at The World....

We went the week before Thanksgiving week and it was great. Low crowds and we were walking on most rides. We got VERY spoiled. Saturday before Thanksgiving it started really filling up.

Many posters here said Jersey Week was incredibly crowded and should be avoided at all costs. There were at least three threads with the title "Jersey Week - Never Again!" or something like that. Some said it was as crowded as peak season. Then others said it was not bad.

I was there this past November, and it was busy, but I thought it was no worse than my mid-May trips. I would not hesitate to go again that week. It's like any week that is not completely deserted - get to the parks early and get the big rides out of the way! And one good thing is that the weather was fantastic in early November!

It seems like whenever you to WDW, it's going to be busy. It's time for them to actually jack up the ticket price in relation to the actual inflation rate, backdated from 1990 (that's making it about $100 per adult per day).

That will cut the attendance by about 40% while still making them as much money.

PS: I'm not saying that because I have lots of $$, but consider this.

Transportation aside, spending 2 weeks at Niagara Falls, or travelling around British Columbia (just going to national parks, go to museums, etc) will cost MORE than spending 2 weeks at WDW, and I live in Canada!.

One of many reasons I kept going back to WDW, because it's the cheapest vacation place on my list of places I want to go. Even spending 2 weeks to Montreal (obviously watching shows, going to museums etc) will cost more than going to WDW, with or without transportation included in the equation.

I don't think so. Disneys biggest profits come from what people spend once they're in the parks. If there are 40% less guests they will lose money even if they raise the entrance fee.
