How's the Bass Fishing Tournament?

Hey all, just curious to see if anyone has participated in the Bass Tournament that DVC holds every Thursday (?). My wife and I loved going fishing on our honeymoon, but at $225 plus tip it was a bit steep for something we would want to do all of the time. I understand it's ony $70to get intinto the tourney. Anybody done it yet? How much fun did you have? Would you do it again?

I'm also curious. Price is not too bad if there are fish. I'm wondering if the breakfast is before 10am, or if it cuts into fishing time?

It is listed on the member website. It says continental breakfast at 9:30 at the Contemporary, fishing starts at 10 AM. Up to 4 guests per boat.

We have done 2 bass charters out of the Contemporary in the past. The first year the 3 of us caught around 11 fish total. The next time we went we caught NONE. The lake level was low and the guide said the fish were just sluggish. So, whether the fish are biting depends largely on the lake level, weather, etc. We also always did the first available time slot. 10 AM is later then we were fishing, so that might make a difference.

Oh they are out there.

We usually get about 20 between 5 of us in 2 hours. But to be honest-this was one of about 5 total catches that day-by far the most memorable though.

That is a nice looking lunker!

When my wife and I went in early October, we went out of the Poly at 7AM. I caught the first bass right off the Garden Wing of the Contemporary, but we caught the remaining 11 right off the dock at the Wilderness Lodge. Our guide was great, especially for my wife, who never in a million years did I ever think would hold a bass by the lip! Our guide was even good enough to let us wash up at the WL before dropping us off at the MK. It was a great way to start our day!
