How's that chicken pastry (chicken pot pie?) at Raglan Road?

I LOOOOVE good chicken pot pie. I mean the kind your mama or grandma used to make, not the mystery meat kind you get now. I can handle Stouffer's but homemade is better. Even Boston Market's doesn't really cut it - the creamy filling inside isn't right, it's more of a white sauce. :sad1: Problem is, I don't know anyone anymore who knows how to make it. I'm just wondering how Raglan Road's is. Is the crust yummy and flaky and homemade tasting?

Not sure which one you mean, but I had the Pie in the Sky - chicken and wild mushroom pie served with a rocket lettuce salad ($16.95) last Sunday night. The crust was the best part. The chunks of white meat chicken were on the dry side, as chicken often is, but still quite tasty. I didn't eat much of the salad - as I'm not a fan of weird-looking salad greens. :)

I guess it would help if I got my restaurants straight! It's at Rose and Crown, not Raglan Road!

I had the one at RR last week and liked it, but I also like Boston Market!

Oh don't get me wrong - I like Boston Market's okay, but it's just not the same light yellow sauce like you would normally see in a pot pie; it's more white and doesn't taste the same!

The chicken pasty at Rose and Crown is *awesome.* I am a very picky eater - I don't eat meat, except for chicken, and I don't really like weird concoctions. This was perfect for me, the crust was really good. It is pretty filling as well.

Whatever you do don't order it at the PrimeTime Cafe... yuck
