Thinking of making some switches. I am having doubts about Hollywood and Vine. I feel obligated to take my 1year old to see Oso. He's not a huge fan but he knows who he is. Same w/ Handy Manny. He LOVES Mickey Mouse Clubhouse to pieces. Would it be wrong of me to cancel this one? I'm not thrilled w/ yet another buffet. I would also like to cancel Mama Melrose just b/c we always eat Italian @ home. I would like to trade 2 TS meals in for either a signature or a show. I have been to all 3 shows so I'm really leaning towards a signature but not sure which would be best w/ a 1 year old. [If we can even get in this late] What do ya think?
Oh & is there a dress code for any of the signatures & what courses do you get on the DDP? Any suggestions for which one? I love Seafood my husband loves Steak. Thanks in advance!!

We traveled twice with one year olds...the last 2 years.

IMO, you have way too many TS meals. You will be suprised how long of naps he/she will take and you will find yourself rushing/waking the baby to get to adrs on time. At least that is what has happened with us. I would get rid of a few and that will free up some credits for your OOP meals and/or your sig restaurant/dinner show of choice.

Ohana dinner is a must do for our family. It is loud at dinner with activities for the kiddos.
CM will be fun for you guys.
I would prob consider switching the H&V breakfast for crystal palace breakfast.

Hope that helps!

We are doing Hollywood & Vine for Oso, my son who just turned 3 is a huge fan. Character meals with a 1 year old can go either way, for our son when he just turned 1 the character meals were great he always had something to watch and it kept him happy. He has always loved the characters and was never scared, but Ive heard of some kids getting scared of the characters.

Mama Melrose is just ok, probably my least fav of all the Italian restaurants at WDW (we prefer Tutto Italia, Via Napoli or even Tonys Town Square).

Chef Mickeys is a do not miss for us! Our sons fav (pretty good food too!)

Liberty Tree Tavern - for dinner is an excellent choice for a 1 year old, they no longer have characters, but the food is served family style and is mostly kid friendly foods.

Le Cellier - we are not steak eaters so have never went

Ohana dinner is another MUST DO for us! :thumbsup2 Just ate here 2 weeks ago and am going to again in 3 more weeks!

1900 Park Fare - never did breakfast (only dinner) and to my understanding the breakfast lineup included some Disney Villians and have heard from friends their children were scared of this one. At dinner the characters are from Cinderella.

San Angel Inn - LOVE! (the one year old should be fascinated by the atmosphere too!)

Garden Grill - excellent choice! The rotating restaurant and scenery and characters is great for kids!

Never done Kona or Plaza.

The best thing about the buffets and having a 1 year old is you can get them whatever they will eat and its included. We liked that when our son was 1 & 2 (this trip he just turned 3 so will be on the DP himself for the first time!) rather than having to worry about having 1 person order something they can share with the tot (which depends on how much your child eats to begin with).

We havent attempted any signatures with our little one as of yet. We ate at Narcossees on our honeymoon before he was even born but I think in most cases the ambience at the signatures would be better enjoyed by the adults in your party with only children who are at least old enough to sit still and enjoy the meal. Not saying people dont bring little ones because they do but it is just my opinion for my family to save the sigs for either when me & DH get to go out to eat without the tot, or for when he's old enough to enjoy them also.

Have a great trip!

Yes, Crystal Palace is another fav of our son! Weve eaten there on both his 1 & 2 year old trips and will be this year also! He's not really a huge winnie the pooh fan, he reads their books sometimes and knows who they are, but they're not like Mickey and Buzz lightyear to him LOL, but at Cystal palace he gets so excited to see them! The food is really good there too!

I would recommend that you drop the H&V meal. Your son is only one. He really won't know the difference- just don't tell him that it could have been a possiblity! You still have several other character meals. In all honesty, he's so young, I'm not sure just how much benefit he will get from them. I'm hoping he won't have the not uncommon reaction of being afraid of the giant characters! Yes, they love them on TV, but when they see a 6 foot Pooh or Goofy coming at them, that can change fast! Not trying to alarm you, just want you to be aware that this sometimes happens with the wee ones.

I also think that you might want to postpone your signature dinners until your son is older. There are some really lovely 1 TS restaurants to choose from in the mean time, both in the parks and at the resorts.

Thank you for the advice! I might just cancel a few. I will say I might be the only non fan of CP. I know! I know! But..I have only had it @ dinner & I think it's too crazy in there. I will say the breakfast does look way better to me than the dinner. I think I'd have to go extra early to avoid the chaos.

So many great points! That is true for sharing w/ my baby!
I'm so excited you like the Garden Grill & especially the San Angel Inn [that's the one I have always wanted to try & was thinking of x-ing that off the list]

If you have any suggestions for 1 TS places I'd love to know!
