My boyfriend and I are thinking of crusing in October. We were going to try for this summer, but I thought it'd be too hard to get the same days off, plus it's the pricier season. We both have birthdays in October! In fact, I read there's a 3 day cruise that disembarks on my birthday.

I have a feeling though that a mere 3 day cruise will leaving me wanting to have more though!

We've gone on two Cruises in October - a 3 day Wonder Cruise in 2001 and a 7 night Western in 2004. We've booked the 4 night Wonder for the last week of October this year. We love the lower prices, and the weather has been great each time we went. We've been lucky. :Pinkbounc

October is great for us...not only is it our anniversary, but DW's birthday....Nevertheless, the weather, which is warm but not oppressively so, and the pricing, which is among the lowest of the year, are 2 major factors as to why we like October.....

We go every October! Have been very fortunate to get Cat. 1's the last 2 years in a row (what a bonus!) We find the weather, crowds and of course, off-peak pricing to be wonderful!!

We are looking forward to this years cruise and we're gonna see how the Walt Disney suite compares to the Roy Disney suite.....yeah, lifes tough :rotfl2:

Enjoy! Heres the link to our last cruise if you'd like to look:

We sailed October 2003 and early Nov 2002 and both times weather was just perfect! :sunny: Not too hot or cold and no rain. So we booked again for this October on the Magic... :cool1: :cool1:

As long as there are no late Hurricaines!!! :confused3 Dare I say???? :sad2: Not too often.

October is great!! Book it! :goodvibes

Our very first cruise was in October and it was perfect. Weather was awesome for us, seas were calm and we had a blast. Been back almost yearly since then.

We're looking at possibly doing the 7 day cruise that starts on the 15th. :) (As CMs, though, we have to wait till less than a month before to book in order to get the biggest discount)

That would put my birthday on the last day at sea! (It's on the 20th.)

I'm so cruise obsessed right now I even dreamed about it last night...

I think you're right about the fact that a 3 day would leave you wanting more. Our first cruise back in Jan. was the 3-day, so now we have the 4-day booked for this October. I think it's going to be a great time to cruise!

We cruised late in October (Halloween) and it was great. :flower:

:cool1:
The 10-15-05 cruise is the one we are booked on! :cool1:

We have a huge group on the Cruise meets board and even a Yahoo group. If you decide to book you will have to check us out!

I have taken 3 cruises in October and have never had a problem. I love cruising in October, and it is cheaper to sail that month!!!

I'm glad AngieBell asked about this...
When you all say the weather was great, I'm wondering how the water was?
We've never cruised before. Was the water warm enough for comfie snorkeling on the excursions. BTW, I think the excursions look incredible!
Thanks. Enjoying everyone's posts! :sunny:

The breezes helped and the water was divine and calm...But by 3:00 we were more that ready to get out of the sun :sunny: and get a shower. Too me it was just perfect! It was Hot enough to get in and enjoy the water, but we did not have the humidity like Summer time.

Can't wait for our 7 day. :cool1:

This last cruise that I took in October 2004, the water was warm and perfect. I managed to get fried at CC while snorkeling so make sure you bring lots of sunscreen because that sun is HOT!!! We were always able to get to CC in October.

The only time it was a stuggle to get in the water was when I went on a DCL cruise in the month of January. It was so darn cold in the bahamas and FL that trip that the water took your breath away and instant goose bumps, but I still had to get into the water...I mean how can you cruise the ocean and not get into the water!!!

My DH and I are planning our first cruise. (!!) October sounds like a good time (as long as there are no hurricanes). Anybody have good luck with November? We're hoping for warmish weather and warm water for enjoying the snorkel excursions, etc.

Thanks to all the people who make these discussions really helpful. This is a great source for information and inspiration!
