How's Marrakesh?

It sounds like a really neat place, but I was wondering about the food - if it was spicy like Indian food. Somewhere I read that it was comparable to Greek food. Does anyone know?

My husband loves Greek food but cannot handle the spice that is in Indian dishes.

Also we have 2 DS who are 9 and 11. How would they like it?
Thanks - Sue

I really enjoyed it and plan to go back in the summer when we travel w/out the kids (dates not yet firm). I don't recall it being spicy, but I like spicy foods, so I'd take my opinion with a grain of salt, so to say.

We really loved it. I did not think it was spicey at all. Had the appetizer plate. I was worried about trying it but found that it was good. We are going back again on our next trip. Loved the entertainment too.

We like it a lot -- ate lunch there in July. Definitely not like Indian food (which we also love). I highly recommend one of the feasts b/c you get to try different things. Also, the mint tea is great and very refreshing. My 8-year-old liked his meal which was a kabob, fries and ice cream. If you're on a budget, this is a good one to do for lunch as dinner is quite a bit more expensive.

Love the Sultan's sampler and DW,DD love the kabobs and crepes for dessert. The only thing you could find there that is extremely spicy, is a warm dipping sauce for your bread. It sometimes is served with your meal but most of the time you have to request it.DD loves the stuff.Very hot but tasty

Marrakesh is not Indian spicy (hot); there are spices used though. I am not a huge fan of spicy food, but I LOVE eating at Marrakesh. The Sultan Sampler is great to share with someone else. I really enjoyed the chicken kabobs for lunch. Try it -- you'll probably enjoy it. The food is really very good and very tasty.

The food is definitely not very spicy (hot) but many flavorful and unusual spices are used in the dishes. Compared to a more authentic Morrocan restaurant here in Atlanta, the food is actually a bit toned down although still far from bland. The food is usually very good and the atmosphere is wonderful.

Lots of Marrakesh fans here.

Have you ever had couscous? Lamb and chicken kabobs. Nothing too spicy (in my mind), but flavorful - and unusual. They have a variety of baklava - the meat rolls with cinnamon and powdered sugar I've had at Greek places - much more like Greek than Indian - although the spice is reminicent of mild Tandoori.

Sorry, I hate to be the negative one.

We did not like it. The food was not to our liking.

I think it was the first or second year we went, so it has been a while.

I remember that the entertainment was fun. My daughter who was only 3 or 4 years at the time, got to go up and dance.

I remember the food just being very bland and not having much taste at all.

I think that if you like this kind of food though, that you should definately try it out!

I always believe in trying things first to make sure you like them.
