How's April?

How is April usually? My friend and I are thinking of now going in April of 2007 and just wondering how that is. I figured it might be a little bit better than going in March, but who knows. I'm not exactly sure on the dates, but I probably either the first or second week of April. Thanks much for any input you have.

I'm not going to lie, April is going to be REALLY busy. We went last year during the week of Easter, the lines and crowds were crazy. One day they even stopped letting people in the magic kingdom. They were at full capacity. We have been to Disney in Jan, Feb, March, May and November. April by far was the worst we have ever seen it. With that said we are going again this year the first week of April. It is the only time our kids have off school. The lines and crowds don't have to ruin the trip. Plan ahead, read some travel books about Disney. Get to the parks EARLY! Before the gates are supposed to open. Make sure everyone rides their favorite rides first, that way if the lines are worse later you won't feel bad. Use the fast pass system right away! By noon they were giving out times for like 9pm! (There are some rides that have faster moving lines.) Take a break and leave the park in the afternoon and go back later. If you go after the 2nd week Magic kingdom is open very late and the other parks are open later than normal too. No matter what, if you are a huge Disney fan you'll have fun, but if you can go the end of April or early May it will be less crowded, just more HOT! Have fun if you go, who knows maybe we'll pass each other in the crowds.

Darn. That's what I was afraid of. I know we'll still have fun. I just hoped we could have fun and not have to wait in line having most of our fun. haha. Oh well though I guess. You can't win at everything. My friend doesn't want to go in December which was my next offer because it won't be as warm. She really wants to spend a day or so at the beach which is fine, so yeah. April will be warmer for that. I'm probably going to get TGM when it gets closer to then so hopefully that'll help in my planning and when to go on what rides and what times.

we went in April 2 years ago. Two full weeks before Easter. It was great! It started to get busy on Friday at the Magic Kingdom but the rest of the week was fine. I have been to Disney in March and Nov and it was a zoo....then other times in March fine...so I think a lot depends on what is going on. If you go over Easter week, expect it to be packed.

I was down in Florida April 2005 right at the end of the month. We were at Universal and the kids and I were able to make it about 3/4 around the park before it got really busy. I am HOPING that is the same case this year at Disney!! We are going the 26th-30th.

Last year we went Apr 8th which was 2 full weeks after Easter. It was awesome. We used the fastpass and went to the parks early. We didn't wait more than 20 min for a ride. We are going back this year 2 weeks after Easter. I am hoping for the same- the weather was beautiful also!!! I think that when you go the week before and after Easter it is much more crowded. April is our favorite time to go. I would avoid the week leading up to Easter & the days right after it. Our stay last year started the Friday after Easter & it was great. We are doing the same again this year. Easter is April 8th in 2007, so that leaves a lot of the month to enjoy without the crowds being too big.

April is a great time to go if you avoid easter week. The weather is usually almost perfect, pretty warm low to mid 80's, but humidity hasn't kicked in yet.
