Howl-O-Scream Review

there was nothing on our fright feast voucher to go to the Nairobi gate for early access, we had to figure that out on our own. unfortunately, there were a couple of hundred others doing the same thing. there were no signs or anyone helping out the matter.

we had to approach someone at the gates if we were in the right place. no one told half of the people queue'd up they didn't have a fright feast pass and were wasting their time and ours trying to enter two hours early. BG's approach was to allow them in, but not let into the houses until 7:30... bad move.

we were told the gates would open at 5:30, they didn't open until 5:55. we were told to check to the desert grill by 5:45, we didn't get there until 6:15 because of the backlog.

at morracco, we were challenged to have our fright feast voucher and AP's, even though we were already let into the park with them. we then were let into the desert grill around 6:25. the CTL/ALT/Deceased show started at 6:30, and we had just gotten into the buffet line.

unlike BG's normally good food offerings, the fright feast was crap, we paid $117.00 for crap... the food was horrible. the chicken tenders were the best thing offered.

our half hour preview got us into two houses, trapped and hunted. we were at after hours at 7:40 and had a half hour wait because of the crowds that were let in ahead of schedule.

by 10:30, the lines to get a beer reached nearly a half hour. deathly departed was an hour and a half wait. we tried to spend time hanging out in the scare zones to have a little fun. a girl in zombie junction broke character and walked over to us and told us to move along and stop holding up the line. I never knew there was a line in a scare zone.

with the exception of 3rd dementia, which is long overdue of being retired, the houses were great. everything around them needs to be gutted. we already sent the letter to BG's passholder address. it was really bad this year.

Wow, everything that U said actually is how everything happened. My niece came for the HOS event, not the fright feast meal, and she saw me waiting in line to get in ( I told U we were the last at the gate) for the fright feast.I did not see my niece screaming for my name. So when we meet toguether I ask her at what time you got in, and she said at 7:15 p.m....Okay we were in line inside BG restaurant at 6:30 for the buffet, when the show started, we sat down at maybe 6:40-6:45 to eat, I had no time to eat the whole meal because the show ended...people were leaving....I am trying to figure out is this the time BG fright feast ALWAYS open for the meal? I can not find the time to enjoy the meal or the 30 minutes headstart in my brain? Is this (5:55) the right/good time to open the park for a meal with 30 minutes headstart? Do they always open the gate at 5:55 for this meal?

Sounds like they need to get their act together when it comes to the handling of stuff like the Fright Feast. But remember, this was only the first weekend of the event for this year, so hopefully they can get the kinks worked out.

It was my first fright feast experience. Hey, how come there was a show included in this meal, and I did not even knew about it?

Is the show also ALWAYS included with the meal?

some signs and a couple of people outside of the Nairobi gate checking for fright feast passes would have alleviated the whole mess.

all of the problems were compounded from that. I probably wouldn't have been as disappointed with the quality of the food if we would have been given time to sit and eat instead of cramming it down our throats. CTL/ALT Deceased was a pretty funny show, what I was able to see of it.

Why would you have to show your AP?

Just a shot in the dark, but last week, platinum passholders got in for free, and maybe that is what he (Amity) used for HOS admission.

correct for the three in my family, we have platinum passes. the other two girls have gold but paid for the HOS passes in advance and had their Etickets.

unfortunately, they surrendered those at the gates. when we fianlly got to the fright feast checkpoint near the desert grill they had no proof they had paid to get into HOS.

all of these problems were avoidable, I hope BG gets their stuff together before the real crowds hit.

Yes, the same thing happened to me at the CHECKPOINT, they asked me for my HOS tickets, too! I was very late and on top of that they stop me to ask me for proof of HOS! They really need to get their act together. If they took the etickets HOS at the entrance to the park, and put them in a basket, why is it that at checkpoint those same people that work for BG can not go to the basket at the entrance of the park and get them themselves? Why ask for something people may not have? The checkpoint move or request is not helping neither, especially if U are already late, very late, and if you bought your HOS tickets with eticket and surrendered them at the entrance of the park.

This post is here because people who go to HHN also love to go to Howl-O-Scream. Both are great. Both are better than the other. Both are FUN.

It was BG the one who introduced me to this halloween special event.(I live more closer to BG than USF.) After finding out what it was at BG, my first time 7 or 8 years ago, I decide to see the other similar name (horror) event at HHN. So NOW every year after year I have to do BOTH or NONE! I am waititng for Disney to have an event that says horror, too so I can go and check it out. I have never been to mickeys halloween party, because I am waiting for the horror part to come in, but I know that is imposible since Mickey is a children specific thing/event.

There have been rumors of a more teen-or-adult oriented event eventually happening at MGM Studios. Who knows if this event will ever see the light of day. IMO, I doubt it'll ever happen.
