How young is too young for a solo trip for an adult?

Here's why I ask this, I'm 21 years old right now and am making plans for a trip in September 2012. At which time I will be 23. I have someone who might be able to go with me then but don't know how committed they are to it. I just would rather not find myself in the position where she cant go and it leaves me out $1,000.00 or so dollars that I may not be able to get back. So I'm just wondering how young is too young?

I did my first solo trip while I was 23 and I'm sure there are tons others who have done so while younger. It was super fun though! I know that some flights may not be refundable but Disney is usually pretty good about refunding room cost/packages as long as it is done in the appropriate time frame

23 is PLENTY old enuf....I turned 23 right before I was licensed and practicing Pharmacy at my first REAL job.

You are not too young for a Solo trip! Are you comfy being by yourself? Are you chatty with others? You can meet ALL sorts of people in line and on Disney Transportation. If you're a Photographer...you can get some killer Pics without anyone else telling you to hurry up. Dining at TS is not too bad, the CM's will make you feel very comfortable.

Have a Magical Time!

If your friend goes, great...if not, GO ANYWAY!!!!

don't be worried, if you feel comfortable by yourself, just go, you will not regret this one! I was "only 19" when I went by myself...all the way from Europe nonetheless

Reading everyones experiences makes me just want to go on my own at this point. And it will make it possible for me to stay at my all time favorite Disney World Resort; The Yacht Club. It also seems like my friend will be going to Disney in 2011 anyway.

I grew up in the Orlando area. When EPCOT opened, I got an AP. Wound up going 13 times within that 1st year. On only four of those trips was I a tour guide for other family members. I stayed in different resorts on multiple trips and I was only 18.

I was 19 when I went solo the first time. If you are ok being on your own then be prepared to have a blast. I moved out when I was 18 so I was used to doing things on my own, it was a great experience for me.

I think going by myself is the way to go. Wont have to deal with people telling me they have had enough for the day, I can go at my own pace. I also wont have to worry about feeling bad about another person in my party not riding things that I like to go on. And on top of that will be able to put money towards staying at my favorite Disney World hotel The Yacht Club.

Thank you for everyones input and short stories of experience on this matter. Really helped me realize that theres no age too young as an adult to go to Disney World alone.
