How You Know You've Chosen the Right Day to Visit

Wow.... thats amazing.

Great to have the time to go slow and take it all in... without missing anything out.

We were there same time last year and it was just as empty. I was longing to go again this year, but alas...no more year-round school. Maybe next year we will just take the kids out for a few days in early November. Christmas starts soon, so did you see any decorations?

There were very few Christmas decorations up - more we could see where they were preparing to put them up (the base for the big tree was out, some small fences, the castle walkway was blocked off). There were some lights on the castle already. I think they really go up over this coming weekend.

I think that it is just a great pocket between the people who want to see the Halloween decorations and special overlays, and the people who want to see the Holiday decorations and overlays. We were talking to a CM at the Jungle Cruise and he said the last two weeks of October were terribly busy, but the first week and a half of November was super quiet every year.

I knew that the folks here would understand my excitement. :)

Thanks, those who helped get my photos to work. I'm still not sure what I did wrong.

This was last Thursday - November 3. PotC and Small World were closed for refurbishment. I expected MM to be a madhouse because it started at 9:00am (regular park opening was at 10:00.) But it was less crowded than our 7:00 MM this summer.

We were the first people on Peter Pan, stopped to take a couple of photos, and were still the first people on Mr. Toad (we asked).

As for the TSMM wait - it was actually only seven or eight minutes. That was at about 1:00 in the afternoon.

Soarin' may have been the funniest, though. We walked in with FP in hand at about 7:30 and found that the entire queue was completely empty - not a guest in sight. The CM down at the bottom of the queue laughed and said, "Welcome, Fastpassers! You get to pass [throws arms wide] ALL THESE PEOPLE!"

About 4:00 we realized that, had we wanted to, we probably could have ridden every ride in both parks. We "settled" for doing a total of 50 rides...without ever truly rushing. I highly recommend weekdays in the first two weeks of November!

The first week of Nov. is our families absolutely favorite time of year to go! We love seeing DLR like that. :cloud9:

We missed it this year, but are planning on it for next year!

No pictures only words.... when there are no lines for the toieties. And there is plenty of t.p. to boot.
