We get off the Magic 8-9am. Flight home isnt until 715pm. We need to pick up the Avis car at Port Canaveral and return it to the airport so I figure we only really have 6hrs before our 715pm flight.
Was thinking of Gatorland but hear it's too lame. What would you do? And what would you do if you spent the day at Downtown Disney? We are DVC owners so I was also thinking of touring the resorts. Would it be worth it/possible to rent a room (use our points) at the Beach Club from 10am-4pm and use Storm Along Bay?

I could easily spend 6 hrs in DD. Go to a movie (2 hrs), go to lunch at Wolfgang Puck's downstairs cafe (1.5 hours), go into Virgin megastore and read their books, shop for stuff, watch the videos playing downstairs (there are three or four TVs down there playing continuous loops of various movies/TV shows with headphones) (2 hrs easily), grab a snack at the Candy Cauldron and then walk down to the Magic Store and either browse or watch a magic show (.5 hour). There. I've used up 6 hours and there's WAY more to do, and I haven't even left the West Side! And I didn't even go to Disney Quest or Cirque du Soleil!

You could also walk over to the Marketplace and catch the boat down the river to OKW, which is a nice and reaxing ride that takes over an hour, round trip. Heck, I know people who could easily blow 6 hours doing nothing other than eating and shopping.

Is there a fee for the boat from Marketplace to Old Key West? We are DVC owners and would like to take a look.

Go miniature golfing........shopping..........eating.............shopping........people watching..........shopping........movie...........shopping......

Oh did I say go shopping????

I could easily spend 6 hours just walking and looking at the stores. I would not waste time doing things I could do at home, like a movie. No charge for the boat.

Disneyquest!!! :D :D

I'd actually probably end up spending less $$ on the entrance to Disneyquest than I would if I tried shopping. :D I could spend a lot at that new toy store!

The last time I was at the Marketplace, I was thinking how I should go up and spend the whole day there sometime. I never get to browse through but a few shops. There are lots of photo ops that I haven't taken, and I haven't seen any entertainment there in a decade. Does anyone remember "The Glory and Pageantry of Christmas" that they used to have there?

I would go in and out of all the shops in DD,on the west Side, on PI, and in The Marketplace. If I had time left, I'd take the boat to OKW to nose aorund there. There are also the mini golf courses, or a water park, although then you'd have to buy a ticket.

We did Winter/Summerland Mini Golf after our cruise and it was cute. Shopping and eating are always fun at Downtown Disney. We've done DisneyQuest and it's good, too, but I like Cirque de Soleil the best if they have an early enough showing. You could always ride the boats and check out some other resorts.

On our last DCL cruise, we had a flight back to Boston at 6:00 P.M.

We decided to spend the day at the Kennedy Space Center. It was fabulous.

Kennedy Space Center

I wouldn't hassle driving all the way to Orlando just to do Downtown Disney. After all, shopping is shopping is shopping. There's plenty of stuff to buy on DCL.

Have a great trip,

Well..... In July it took us almost that long to stand in line for a Ghiradelli ice cream!

There's plenty to do and see. If you throw in a meal or a snack, 6 hours is easy to spend in DTD.

Shop at all the specialty Disney stores, have some food/drink, definitely go to the Virgin superstore.

My DH (Finace at the time) spent 8 1/2 hours shopping at DOwntown Disney last year... and he hates shopping. It was soooo much fun. Lots of photo ops and tons of great stores...
