How would you spend $60K this holiday season?

New car--something w/AWD, maybe a Honda Element or a Subaru WRX. Then, I'd fix up the bathroom (the walls and ceiling need to be tiled), buy bedroom furniture, a piece of storage furniture for the kitchen, go on a nice cruise to Hawaii w/DH. Whatever is leftover will go towards our savings for a down payment on a house. Sounds pretty nice to me! :cloud9:

I would prefer to save it. But I would buy several smaller things and donate about 10k of it.

pay off all debts, and buy DH a new truck, poor thing been driving the clunker forever without one complaint. I then would take DH on our dream trip to Paris, and it would be a surprise..... oh, to have a windfall of money.... :goodvibes

If saving it for the boys' college is not allowed, then I'd:

- pay off our line of credit
- go on a trip to Germany so I can finally see Neuschwanstein
- get a new car so I can stop driving around in my 12-year-old minivan
- fix up the house: new front door, new carpeting throughout
- If there's anything left, a trip to Alaska

Pay off two credit cards and buy myself a Subaru Tribeca.

I think I would have enough to get the house painted and my cracked plaster in the ceilings fixed. I would also go blow about $500 at the Container Store to get my house/basement completely organized.

OK, I think that's about $60K!

Debt free here. That would be a great xmas gift :)

Downpayment on a house, most definitely!

Downpayment on a house right next door to Katerkat :teeth:

I would put it in muni funds and let it grow. In about 15 years, it would be around $300k.

Fix up the house, sell it, and move to Fla :sunny:

I would upgrade from the POP to the Poly for Christmas and fly out family to meet us so we could all have Christmas together. The rest of the money I would begin my sons college bound fund, husbands retirement fund, and what ever remained I would make a large principal payment to the house.

New desktop computer would be first on my list. Then I'd pay off credit card. Then I would have myself a nice little January visit to WDW. The rest would put gas in my car and food :teeth:

I'd probably stock my audio and sheet music library and buy a whole bunch of voice lessons. Then again, a car with chauffeur is awfully tempting.

Most of mine would go to creditors and home repair. First I would skim a little off the top for a few favorite charities though. :)

I would use it for a down payment on a house or town house.

If you HAD to spend sixty thousand dollars cash money, no ifs ands or buts on just you ,would you buy one big thing or several smaller purchases?

Just curious!

DH would buy a corvette, but I would buy many, many smaller items that are needed for the house,(vinyl siding, etc. things that would make life easier in the future). I like improving the appearance of the house and some life insurance that we should have, but don't. I don't think I would have a problem spending it before Christmas!

Anyone else?

Well, let see. I would pay our debt first, then put some $$ aside for my Son's college.
I would buy lots of little stuff to my family, (Mom sister etc) and to the people I know that don't have $$, beside gifts I would buy them food and clothes. Also donate some to charites and whatever left if any, I would spend it with my hubby and kids in Disney World. I would take some kids that never been in WDW along.
