Hi, we arrive at CDG airport at 2.45... then got to get bags etc, find transfer... so am guessing going to be at park at..... 4-4.30 ish. SO we get to sante fe, check in and get passes etc..how long is all this going to take? I know we will miss OUAD parade... but will def see fantillusion... just wondering how to plan it. As boys would be so fed up, after driving all morning, then plane, then bus! they will be ready to burst... we have two rooms booked in sante fe, one for me, matthew and boys and one for my mum.

Just dont want that first day to be a total waste? esp after all the travelling? And cant do a charector meal..as have allergy issues etc..

what would you do???:confused3

cant wait!! :yay:

I'd just have a wander/run around and go on any rides where the queues aren't too long as you wont want to be waiting for things after a day of travelling.

I'd say your best bet is to only plan for fantillusion and do the rest by ear as trying to plan ride itinararies and stuff never work as you can't allow for wait times and stuff.

You might want to take the boys to adventure isle where they can run around for a bit and be piratey? Or to pizza planet where tehere's an indoor play area and you grown up can sit and have a tea or coffee.

Personally I'd aim to do POTC and IASW then see Fantillusion. Sounds like the perfect start to the holiday to me and it's exactly what I'm hoping to do on our first day.

haha, sounds good. But that wouldnt work for us, ben is 4 and i wouldnt want to throw POTC at him straight away! way to scary for him bless... and IASW is closed while we are there!

I think your right about not planning too much for that day... I think we will... head into park see the cadtle and all the !wow! of disneyland... then maybe try and do one ride?? peter pan? wed 5ish? what kind of que? this bad idea? so any ride that takes bens eye really... let him choose! then go get a hot choc and snacks and find a spot for fantillusion...

guess am just trying to work out if any rides are going to be "do able" on this first afternoon/eve?

After 5pm there will possibly still be queues in Fantasyland, but then again maybe not.

I think you will just have to play it by ear that first evening - your son will just be so happy to be there, he may not even register that there are rides to go on :rotfl: ! Torsie's idea is a good one too I think - take him to the pirates play area in Adventureland, or the Pocahontas play area in Frontierland (if its open) if rides are too busy.

In Christmas season, there really is so much just to look at, never mind ride on  :cloud9:

In October CM's wouldn't let Kacee on either of these as they said he was too young :sad1:

yes i think thats my feeling too... mooch around, look at all the christmassy bits etc. Maybe only go on a ride if there looks to be hardly a que at all... just enjoy the surroundings!! then thursday we will have busy day rides etc... then fri sat sun morning have emh to do rides too! I think ben would love to go see things like the displays... lightening mcqueen car all those kinds of things, get some nice pics done.... then try and work out a good place to bung pram and sit them both down to watch fantillusion...!! ohhhhhhh SO EXCITING!

I'm not sure if anyone has given you any advise but the one thing I would say is that if your child(ren) dislike a ride the first time, try them again another day.

Kacee hated POTC the first time, the next day we did it again and he loved it and was asking everyday to go on it.

On the flip side, I thought he would hate Phantom Mannor and love Peter Pan and he loved Phantom Mannor and screamed round Peter Pan :confused3

haha.. i can imagine ben will do something like that... there has been such a huge build up to seeing this peter pan ride he will prob hate it and spend all 5 days wanting to go on tea cups, haha.
he has recently got lilo and stitch, stitch has a glitch... and this has made him really want to see stitch there... so may try stitch live too... but without baby!

I would say that deffo make sure you see Fantillusion, apart from that I would just go to the park and get a feel for the place.

I love wandering around the park and taking everything in.

I would just wander and take everything in :cloud9: what a shame IASW is closed.....

Not long now! :yay:

yes..! so gutted.. but it could have been worse.. if peter pan or buzz been closed would have been a disaster! haha. Althought it is "nannys" favourite ride!

yes think i will just enjoy that first night.. swoon around, get some cake that sort of thing! then get in a good spot for fantillusion... have no idea where.. have to find somewhere good to place a buggy..as want them to be able to see!!

I have to say IASW is my fav........even at age 35! lol Buzz would be a close 2nd! ;)

Its a good opportunity to have a wander, Belles Christmas area is lovely after dark and the village will be buzzing around that time too! You can take time to plan which rides to tackle the following day. There is an ice rink outside New York hotel which is floodlit in the evening so you could give that a go too!
