We are going for 5d/4n and staying on resort. How would you apportion the tickets for the 5 days we will go to parks for 6 year old and 2.5 year old girls? We probably will not choose park hopper as they'll be worn out enough.

I'm currently thinking 2 days MK, 1 Epcot, 1 HS and 1AK.

Due to flight times we may only get 4 days at park. In that event, which would you leave off?

Welcome to the dis, Molly.

If only 4 days, I would drop HS. For 5, I think your thinking is good. Enjoy.

Thanks. I think we want Hs for the Disney jr character meal at H&v. They're still small enough to love Disney jr. Sigh, wish that was available at other parks.

Agree with Dan. If you only have 4 days then drop HS unless your princess really really want to meet Sophia and see Disney Jr live. For 5 days you are spot on.

Now if you really only want to be in the parks for 4 days you can get the park hopper and do DHS in the morning for Disney Jr live then hop over to Epcot for the princess in the countries.

Ok. So do you think a 2.5 year old would be entertained at AK? I don't know much about AK yet.

Edit- I hear it's a 1/2 day park for kids my age which is fine so we can swim/nap the rest of the day.

I personally think AK is great for little ones. Most people are not willing or want to do what is offered at AK. The safari, walking trails, and shows can take up a whole day if you do all that. It will really depend on if your 2.5 year old would be okay in Festival of the Lion King, Flights of Wonder, Finding Nemo the musical, and be interested in seeing the animals.

When are you traveling/arriving?

If you have about 4-5 hours, I would not skip hollywood with 2 small girls but it's not going to have a full day of things for them. Pixar, some frozen and little mermaid (puppet style show) is what you'll find there.

Epcot if the new norway changes are opened might be where they can meet "frozen" and might be a must do. I would probably skip over the other parks if that is not opened yet. It's nice but 2 days at MK and AK I think are the the most important and then it's a question of what is in the other 2 parks they might like and do you have time to do it.

DD did not like animal kingdom at all as a preschooler because she wanted Disney Princesses and there are none there. We have a good zoo at home, so she was not at all interested in looking at the animals when there were rides and princesses to be found at MK and EPCOT and she begged to go back to those parks. She liked Safari, the Lion King show, Tusker house restaurant and meeting characters and that was it for AK. We have gone every year since she was 2, and she is 9 now, and likes AK better, but still places it in last place as far as the parks go. She started liking it when the did the Wilderness Explorer mission book- I think she was 7- but your little one will not be old enough to enjoy that at age 2. MK and EPCOT have always been DD's favorite parks by far- that has not changed since her first trip at age 2. I wouldn't want to drop any parks, but if I had to, I would drop AK, or do hoppers and split a day between AK and DHS (I would do FP+ for later in the day at DHS so you could get one at TSM). I don't know when your trip is, but DHS might be pretty torn up by then since they are starting construction for Star Wars soon. I think you definitely want 2 full days MK and 1 full day EPCOT (EPCOT is a 2 day park for us). As for your other day or two, I would just look at all the options in the parks that you think your girls will really enjoy and pick that way.

My kids have always loved every single park from the beginning, which was right before or after they turned 2 years old. And none of them have ever been 1/2 day parks for us. Each park is very different. MK is very ride oriented, HS is very show oriented, Epcot is a bit of a mix and has the aquarium and cultural experiences that can be fun for kids, and then AK for us is a very laid back park. We still spend the entire day here, but it doesn't feel as chaotic as it can at some of the other parks with making it from attraction to attraction. It's slower paced and rarely feels as crowded. We take in some shows, we enjoy the scenery. The kids stop and dance to the music in Africa and learn to belly dance in Asia. We walk the trails and once old enough (they started at 4) the kids love the Wilderness Explorers program.

I think if you have 5 days I'd do the same plan with 2MK and 1 each at the other parks. If only four days I'd spend some time looking at the various attractions at the parks and decide from there. But I'd definitely keep 2 days at MK.

Thanks we are planning for Oct. When is construction at HS expected to be completed?

This is exactly our family's view on AK. We always go there and do the safari but it's never been a full day park for us. We have a great zoo here at home and we usually do zoo membership so we go often so seeing animals, other than the safari, isn't top on our list of taking time to do while at WDW. We have done the Nemo musical and as an adult I thought it was great and our daughter did initially but it's rather long for small kids. The Lion King show to me was more engaging and kept her attention longer. It all really comes down to you know your kids best and what they like!

In my opinion Everest is the best ride in WDW by a wide margin. That makes AK a must see for my family. If your kid(s) are at least 44" tall, then I wouldn't want them to miss it.

If we only had 4 park days, I would probably do a day at DHS so 2.5 year old could see some Disney Jr characters and leave off AK. UNLESS one of my daughters were really into animals, then I would probably try to split a day between DHS and AK. Personally, I don't think either park is a full day. I think the time would be better spent at Epcot and MK. That's my two cents. Have a great trip!

If you have 5 days that's s perfect plan. With 4 days if either of them are really into princesses, skip AK, because there is lots of princess/character meets in Epcot. If princesses and characters aren't important, I'm tempted to say to skip Epcot.
