How would they know if we stayed in the park?

I've seen them scan tickets at the hub entrances to the different lands. They ask those without to go to main street and exit the park.

When was this? If you don't mind me asking, of course. :goodvibes

What about the lack of magic bands for those who are offsite? Might look a little odd, no?

If you weren't noticed for whatever reason, I suppose this means you'd be able to watch the EMH-only fireworks/parades? Personally, I have better things to do on my holidays than try to waste hours in a park that's closed to me, but figured I may as well ask, LOL.

There are never any parades or fireworks that are just for EMH those are e-ticket events which are much different and much more strict.

How does it work when you are staying at a resort and you are reusing a Magic Band from a previous visit?

Is that MB linked to your reservation as well?

Do you mean using an old band during a current on site stay? If so, it will access your current stay. The bands pull info from your MDE account. Nothing is on the actual band.

If you reuse a magic band it should still show the new reservstion. It basically brings up the "my plans" section of MDE because they can see your resort and any dining reservations you have. It is the same way they check at storm along bay now.

We stay on property so EMH are never an issue. Disney does not usher you out of the park or make you leave. Actually, they prefer that you stay and shop for a while to get a little more $$. The only restriction is that you cannot do the rides or attractions. In order to get onto a ride, you need to scan your MB, Card or show proof of staying on property. There are no more shows, parades or fireworks so there is no reason to stay beyond atmosphere and shopping, but I guess people do it.

They do usher you out for hard ticket events, but EMH is not hard ticket.

For hard-ticket parties yes, for EMH not that I have ever seen nor heard.

Not everyone wears their MBs either. And as already mentioned, there are no EMH-exclusive parades and fireworks.

I thought so too, but when I originally looked at the September calendar, I was working hard to find a day without evening EMH that started before Fantasmic/Wishes. There's just one day this September (the 28th) with this problem right now, so I think you're actually right and that's a mistake. Makes me happier because my week is a lot easier to plan now! :D

Fantasmic is often performed half an hour after the park's official closing. Anyone who is in the park at closing can attend and many are already in line or in the stands by closing. No one can get in a line for a ride once the park is closed unless it is an EMH night in which case those with EMH privileges would have their MB scanned or show their resort key/card.

When we were there in April we were scanned at every ride. Usually they would scan only one of our bands and let our party of 4 go on through.

As previous poster said fantasmic is often performed 30 minutes after closing. You may get in the fantasmic line up until they cut it off but you can not ride any other rides but you can go to fantasmic.

When EMH started, you had to get a wristband in order to stay in the park after public closing. Then Disney did away with the wristbands. Why? To make it easier for nonDisney resort guests to stay in the park to shop and eat. Disney apparently decided that, if they were paying to keep the park open, they might as well maximize revenue. The only thing nonDisney resort guests can't do is ride the rides. They used to check room keys but that was hopeless -- CMs were not able to check room key dates and keep lines moving. Perhaps this situation has improved with the wristbands.

But for us, once Disney quit ushering nonDisney guests out if the park, a lot of the attraction for EMH evenings was gone for us because the parks are still crowded.

I'm so disappointed! I thought we were talking about ways to stay in the park after close. My dream is to get locked in the Magic Kingdom. (I know, I know, a pipe dream, since security is super tight. And especially now that the Magic Bands have GPS tracking in them. :rotfl2: )
