How will you vote?

How will you vote?

  • Labour

  • Conservative

  • Liberal Democrat

  • Other

  • Won't vote

Results are only viewable after voting.
I was listening to Radio 4 ( :confused3 ) and caught a small program where a representitive of each party came on to answer the question "why can't politicians be nice?"

Within minutes the mud slinging began... :teeth:

I've always voted Labour and this time won't be any differant. Howard is too closely linked to Thatcher for my liking and I just can't take the Lib Dems that seriously. I live in a Tory safe seat so my vote doesn't really make any differance but I always vote because women died campaigning for women to get the right to vote.

How can you lower taxes AND have more police without cutting public spending in other areas (such as the NHS thus making cleaner hospitals more difficult to achieve) over what Labour would have spent in total in 6 years time by 35 Billion pounds? And Labour have made huge strides in improving hospital cleanliness with, to take MRSA as an example, the number of cases halving; MRSA incidentally is a problem which first came to light 20 years ago- with the Conservatives in power.
This is how -
Getting rid of quangos, cutting nearly a quarter of a million bureaucrats, replacing the totally rediculous & out-of-control immigration system with an Australian-style quota and points system (which will save £1billion).

"Of £12 billion saved, we will use £8 billion to cut borrowing – avoiding Mr Blair’s next round of stealth tax rises. The remaining £4 billion will be used to reduce taxes"

Does anyone else really enjoy the election night programme on BBC?
I usually stay up until the small hours watching the results come in and trying to understand Peter Snow and his 'swingometer' LOL
Almost as good as the voting on the Eurovision song contest LOL

Me too. I'm an election junkie (although I draw the line at watching the Eurovision!). I think I'm one of the few that enjoys election coverage.

That's a great sentiment Joanne. People across the world are still dying for the right to vote. It's a precious thing and shouldn't be wasted, even if you feel that you have no influence on the outcome in your constituency.

As to me? I haven't voted on this poll as I have yet to decide.

I totally agree that I will always vote for the very good reason outlined by Joanne :)

Need you ask ?

................without wanting to sound TOO much like a party political
broadcast............. ;)

Both Labour and the Lib Dems have already made it clear that
the Tory sums dont add up with the Lib Dem treasury spokesperson
branding the claims as "Fantasy Economics" and even with the
supposed savings, the Conservatives increased spending would be
less than those of Labour in the same time period; especially with
the non- existence of the so called "Black Hole"- with the Chancellors
figures continually proving critics wrong in that his plans can be sustained.

............but we'll have to aggree to disagree; or join the Monster
Raving Loony Party!! :rotfl: ........or worse, Robert Kilroy Silk's new party
number 32!!

....all thats left to say is roll on Peter Snow's swingometer!!

Maybe it's just me needing to get out more but has anyone downloaded the mini Peter Snow? He walks around your desktop and announces the latest election news- occsassionally dancing a merry jig..... :confused3

yes, I DO need to get out more!! :rotfl:

Only because they know the sums do add up! ;)

Maybe that's the best option! ;)

DW and I will be in Florida for the election :( (such a shame) but we will be voting either by post or proxy :) and I am a bit disappointed at missing the election night coverage on the BBC :( but if I have to miss it I might as well be in WDW :teeth:

I have to say that this is the first time in my life that I have been truly undecided as to who to vote for  I would usually vote Tory but I just can't stand Michael Howard who I just can't imagine being at all honest. I am not convinced by the Liberal Democrats although they do seem to be the most honest party. I also have to admit that I actually don't think things are going to badly under Labour, at least not for me :)

All that said I quite like our local MP who is a Tory and he has a good majority so is unlikely to be voted out, so I guess that I will stick with him.

It's times like these though that I would like to be able to say who should be our local MP and who should get to govern the country.

Hello,

Will def' be voting Labour.

Cannot abide either leader of Lib Dem & Conservative parties.

Mistakes may have been made but would prefer to stick with what I know as an adult than go back to what I saw as a child/teenager with Maggie & John.

oooooh I forgot about the swingometer!! It's what elections are all about! I'm just downloading the dancing Peter Snow, can't wait to see him! This is my first ever election where I can vote (I'm 18 now) and I've been looking forward to this day for many many years. I remember the fake election my school held in 2001, it all got a bit out of hand really. Lib dems won marginally over the communist party (seriously) who narrowly beat some other wierd party... it was all somewhat of a popularity contest in the end. But now I finally have a voice and can actually do something about old smarmy git Blair! Of course this did mean that I got to listen to a lecture from my friend's father about how Thatcher was great for this country but... small sacrifices!

I just wanted to say that if you're undecided and tend towards Labour then please vote LibDem. If you're undecided and tend towards Conservative then please vote Conservative!!! Guess who gets my vote???? :sunny:

I'll be voting Lib Dem.I'll never vote Labour again while Blair is in power I HATE him!

What I'm amazed about is the country is apparantly still against the illegal war and Blairs lies and deceit BUT Labour are still ahead and will clearly win :sad2:

::yes:: That's exactly what I don't understand. It's rediculous! Everyone complains about Blair but then many seem to simply vote for him again, despite their many complaints!

Its the economy. It's good, for whatever reason, so people don't care much.

Depressions make people really think hard about taxes etc.
