How will you feel if "YOUR" candidate doesn't win?

I am voting for George Bush- but if he doesn't win I will take a deep breath, hope Kerry makes the right decisions and carry on. Think about it for a minute and try to put yourself in that place where your candidate has lost the electoral college- how do you feel?

Afraid that my dh will get so upset as to have a stroke. Not kidding, he feels that strongly. As for myself, I will be worried about the next four years.:sad2:

Continue on as if nothing happened. As Tip O'Neil said, all politics are local anyway. I've never had who is in the White House to dramatically affect my day to day life as I don't look to the Fed Govt to make decisions for me. I do appreciate it when they decide to give me my money back, though.

Without saying who I'm voting for, if my guy loses, I'll most certainly be disappointed, but I'll hope for the best that the other guy does better than I think he could.

I will fear for the safety of my DS and others who are now in Iraq.

I'm voting for Bush, but if Kerry wins, I'll be supporting him as MY president, and hoping that he does a good job.

I think my disappointment would be more from not having the satisfaction of watching some of the liberal news anchors have to report on a Bush win. I like to watch CNN on election night. The 1994 and 2002 mid-term elections were very gratifying. Judi Woodruff looked like she wanted to hold her nose every time she called another race for a Republican.

And of course, I'll be very disappointed if Mel Martinez does not win his Senate race. I'd feel that one very personally!

Interesting you say that. It's possible that James Carville has already started the Hillary for President Campaign.

Certianly you are not suggesting Carville would be intent on undermining Kerry's election chances, are you? :smooth:

If my candidate doesn't win, I'll feel extremely worried about the future of our society. Heck, I often feel that way anyway. :(

Very good point. I also worry about the future of our society regardless of who, or what party, is in office.

I'm always sort of bothered when I hear that people only vote for President (or only straight party lines) and don't bother researching candidates or voting for the House or Senate reps. (or like someone else pointed out - local politics) I think Congress has a huge amount of power. I worry less about individuals than about "government" and society in general.

I'll feel scared.
I don't love GW, but I feel like he has the national security situation under control and starting over with Kerry would be just that...starting over and it would leave us vulnerable while he dillyed around picking a cabinet, etc. Perhaps it's not the most logical or rational thought, but it's in my head anyway.

:p So true about the media!

I am not worried at all!! I prayed that the most Godly man would be put in office and God always hears and answers my prayers!;)

4 more years!

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord! psalm 33:12

I will wear black on inauguration day much like I did in 1993... And I'll hope the government doesn't take my health insurance away. Though that probably won't be tried again until after the '08 election...

I'm seriously considering going to grad school in Canada.

It has been started long ago...

On the subject of Carville...has his wife had cancer or something? I saw here on a show recently and she looked like she had been through something.
Anyone know?

Well, she IS married to James Carville!

Ok, I'm just joking - I hadn't heard anything about her being ill - she was working in the Vice President's office for a good portion of this administration, no?

I'm voting for Bush. If Kerry wins, I will re-think my plans for the future with an emphasis on survival.
