How will rainy forecast affect normally busy weekend crowds - specifically March 19?

Rain is in the forecast for this Saturday and Sunday - 40% chance of rain with highs in the low 60s. How will this affect crowds on a weekend that would otherwise be very busy?

Rainy/overcast days are the BEST days to go to disneyland. We southern californians are afraid of getting wet apparently. I have lived down here most of my life and I LOVE to go on misty, on/off rain days because most disney ride lines are indoors so you only get wet going from one ride line to the next and the majority of the rides are not wet since they are indoors (with the exceptions being dumbo, canal boats, alice in wonderland, tea cups, and rockets..maybe a few others). Bring a towel to dry off the seats of outdoor rides and enjoy your day....you'll love the lack of crowds and long waits. If it really starts pouring head into innoventions for awhile or catch the aladdin show at CA Adventure.

Your question is one that falls under what I call, "Crystal Ball" questions. No one knows for sure, but as a guess...

This weekend, I suspect, would be very busy. It's a weekend. It's Spring Break for a lot of people. DLR has long hours and the entertainment calendar is busy with lots to see.

That said, add in rain.

Those who have travelled long distances are going to face the weather and go with it because they have limited days to see and do and will just handle it with ponchos, breaks, etc....

Locals are where you will see a decrease in attendance. Many of them won't bother coming to the Park if it's raining (like me!), but others won't care.

HTH,

This.

Thanks. I guess it makes sense that the locals would stay away. That should take a little stress off the park. A rainy day at Disneyland still beats the heck out of staying at home!

We were there president's day weekend and it rained on Saturday. Crowds were really low! Sunday and Monday were MUCH busier.

Keep in mind though that on Sat the 19th, all but premium annual passes are blocked out so that already keeps a lot of the locals away.

We will be arriving on the 20and while I am sad to see rain in the forecast for our stay, I am HOPEFUL that it will be a little less crowded but still expecting it to be pretty busy. I have been watching line times on my phone and really wished we'd been there earlier in the month!

Yes, on that Saturday night we were able to ride Toy Story 4 times! Once the rain went away, that line seemed to go back to its usual 40 minutes (sometimes longer) the rest of President's Day weekend. We also walked onto several rides at Disneyland that evening. We were able to really enjoy the experience, especially since we only went for the evening and didn't actually spend the whole day out in the rain.

What we have noticed about the few rainy times we have been at Disneyland is that crowds really thin out during the rain but the first nicer/sunnier day to follow turns out to be crazy-busy. We figure everybody who had been planning to go on the rainy day held out and waited for the nicer weather day.
