Just notices on grad-nites.com that IOA is hosting Grad Bash on both nights we will be at RPR during our April trip! Pre-party is at City Walk both days. Traveling with my two kids. How will this effect my trip? How should I plan to work around it? Unfortunately, dates are not flexible. TIA

You have FOTL by staying at RPR so all is well. The only downside I can think of is allowing your kids to go to City Walk unattended late at night. I have seen it get a little scary at night.
An easy way to avoid the crowd would be to tour the parks early in the day.

IOA will be closing early on the Grad Bash dates, so you'll have that to contend with. Otherwise, you dont have too much to deal with.

My son's Sr class is going to IOA this year .... it will be a first for this High School to do IOA , they have always done Disney's Grad Night's. I asked at a parent meeting if they needed any chaperions (can't spell) & they said NO.... only the staff will go......NO PARENTS! I have always wanted to go for a Grad Night.... and now that he is a Sr & will be going.... the school won't let me  I work in the School System...gee maybe when my daughter becomes a Sr I will transfer to her school.....then I will be "staff" there LOL ;)

We will be at the HRH in April - what dates are the gradbash?

They are April 23rd & the 24th. My son's school is going on the 24th.... and I am still trying to find a way to go with them LOL As far as the parks during the day.... there shouldn't be that much of a difference. They High Schools usually only go into the parks for the after hours event (8pm-2am). Most schools only purchase the night event tickets....not the regular day admisssion. City Walk may be a bit more crowded... here is a copy of what is planned for there:*********************
Universal City Walk® Pre-Party
It's Orlando's hottest spot for entertainment, home to the best in live music, casual and fine dining, dancing, shopping, movies and more. And it's where you can party before the party! From 5pm-8pm enjoy live entertainment in the streets, a DJ dance party, pizza and soft drinks. Just make sure you save some energy for the rest of the night! ***********************

I know my son's school will be headed home just after the parks close.... they are due to arrive in the school parking lot by 5am (and we are just about 3 hrs away) I hope this will help some of you with fears of all these teens running wild....(during the day)

There will be lots of sex, drugs and rock and roll!!!! LOL...just kidding.

My cousin attended this event and she said there is a lot of security and teens are not left unattended. So I would think, other than parks closing early, you won't have to deal with much. Let us know how it goes.

I was worried about park crowds and shortened hours more than anything else! But I see IOA only closes an hour earlier than normal for that time of year. I guess I was expecting later park hours in April. No nights in April?

So, how do we spend our evenings at RPR? What about these dive-in movies? Can we pool hop to HRH pool for an evening? My kids (pre-teens) may enjoy that. How far is it from RPR?

And City walk, what would pre-teens enjoy there? TIA!

10-15 minute walk. They can take the boat to CityWalk then another to Hard Rock.

RPR is great! You will have so much fun. There is also alot to do at Citywalk. Dining, shopping, movies. Have fun!

We were there a couple of years ago at Grad time. IOA was packed on the Friday of that weekend. The lines were terrible. There are a bunch of unsupervised teens running around. My 4 year old heard a lot of new words, well maybe not new! I yelled at one boy for spitting on someone down below him. Studios were not as bad, we only talked to a group of girls who were very nice. You might want to stay away from IOA on Friday and Saturday if you are going to be there for a while.

A news letter was sent home today from my son's High School. Their school plans on leaving here at around 1pm which should get them to IOA somewhere around 4pm-5pm, depending on traffic. They will not be there at all during the day park hours. They plan on doing the City Walk pre-party & then into the park itself...then home when the park is closed. I can't speak for EVERY school..... but his will be one less during the day.
