How will first week of Oct be?

We have plans to go to WDW first week of October. How will crowds and weather be? We have been last 3 years the 1st of December. I am sure it will be more crowded and hotter, but exactly how much more? How will wait times be and will it be unbearably hot? Thanks for any advice!!

we went last year oct4-9 and the weather was still in the upper 80's/ as far as the crowds go-not to bad as long as you plan well, use fast pass. We were able to do mk in the first day.(but my children were 4 and 2 so they did not ride space mt or splash mt-etc)

We Have been there in the middle of Oct. and the heat isn't bad and we found it wasn't very crowded either. Oct. is my favorite time to go. We found it more crowded in the middle of NOv.

October is a great time to go. We have gone twice then. The weather is nice, in the 80s. The crowds werent bad either time we went. The only downside to going in October to me is that the parks close early. MK closed between 6-7pm when were there except for weekends. And Spectromagic only ran 1-2 times a week.
That was the only bummer to me, when you are paying so much for tickets and MK closes so early. If there is an e-night during your stay, definately take advantage of it.

Keep in mind the F&WF opens October 1. This will bring on largecrowds than normal. Weather should be great.

We are actually doing the exact opposite. Last year and in 2000, we went 10-01- 10-08. This year we are heading down Dec. 6. We really loved the time of year. The weather was warm, only rained once each trip for about 10 mins, and the parks were not too crowded. If your onsite I would suggest EE.


I really want to experience the X-mas decorations and hopefully low crowds.

You'll definitely like Oct. IMHO
