How will Disney's free dining affect Universal's attendance?

I must admit, the free dining enticed us and instead of doing five days at universal like we were going to and had booked, we booked seven days at disney due to the free dining offer, but are still doing a couple of days at Universal too. Do you think the crowds will be especially low at Universal at the end of August due to the Disney offer? I am thinking that we might bounce back to Universal for a day or so in the middle of the week with our seven day tickets, but we wouldn't have the front of the line then and don't know if we would need express passes to avoid long lines. Any experienced answers?

It will be busy in late August and the free dining probably won't affect the Universal crowds that much...if any. You could get there early and do the bigger rides before the crowds arrive and if the wait times get too crazy for you, you can always purchase the Express passes at the park.

u is offering their own mini-version of free dining plan same time as WDW, i posted a thread last week

assume it will generate interest/attendance

check the UO calendar for hours.

when the hours are cut back to 7 pm, the crowds usually are less than when they are opened later.

the very end of august has been a less crowded time at universal in the past years. things do change and who knows what type of crowds are expected at the end of this summer.
