How wet on splash mountain?

I wish they'd turn the water cannon at the first bend, before the first big incline, back on! Getting blasted by that was fun.

I don't remember getting too wet, but I did have a wet bottom for a little while!

Now Jurassic Park in IOA..drenched!!

I can attest to the fact that the water cannon in the briar patch IS indeed in use - I got zapped by it right in the side of the face on our trip in April - soaking me to the bone. I was wearing a heavy cotton shirt that literally hung to my knees afterward and took so long to dry that I gave up and bought a T-shirt at the POTC store. I also firmly believe that there are hidden cameras on all Disney water rides looking out for the more amply-endowed ladies like me - I have been the most drenched on both SM and Kali while others of my group emerge dry as a desert. :sad2:

So true! I got wetter on Kali than I've ever gotten taking a shower, I swear. Husband and daughter? Dry as a bone.

As soon as the picture is taken i always duck my head and tuck myself in a little. I may still get a little damp but avoid getting full blown soaked. If the briar patch water cannons come at you from the side or you stop in front of that little waterfall that seems to have a constant spray at face level....well then your a goner :rotfl2:

In my experience the right side is worse AND if the person in front of you ducks (or is small)...look out you better duck too! Lol

The water levels seem to vary and sometimes they don't use all of the sprayers.

Funny but I sent DH and DS on Splash because I don't like to get wet and they came off dry as a bone (not front seat). Then we went on BTMRR all together in one seat, and because DH and I were on the outsides of the seat with no room to move toward the center, when we got stuck at the top of the first hill where the water sprays and normally misses most of you, we were drenched, like wring out my hair drenched. IRONY.

I was about to ask, do they still shoot that water cannon off every 3rd car? That was by far the most drenching part of the ride, if you happened to be on the 33.3%~ of logs that got hit. It was always amusing for us, trying to figure out if we were the "lucky" ones or not.

I've served at least 10 tours on this attraction and IMO, flip a coin. Sometimes ya' do, sometimes ya' don't. Slightly ducking doesn't hurt if you want to stay dry :)

We've only gotten soaked if we were in the front row, even then sometimes not that much. As long as we haven't been in the front row it hasn't been that bad at all

I thought it was the water cannon at the bottom of the big drop that went off every 3 cars.

I usually get pretty wet; it's not that bad though except for the hair. My hair gets wet and end up looking like a frizzy monster for the rest of the day.

I think we're talking about the same cannon; it shoots off every 3rd log that drops down the big drop, but it lands on every 3rd log coming around the big bend before the first lift hill.

Last trip in March all I got was a little spray of water in the face. My dd and I were in the back though and it was during a parade.

I rode on the front two weeks ago and barely got wet. Dried super fast since it was hot. In March, sat in second row and wetter than first row. The only time I got wet enough for it to be a problem was December 2010 in freezing temps. We actually had to leave park, ride boat to WL and change since we were all frozen. Wear a raincoat if you think it is going to be a problem. Best ride ever!
