How wet do you get? Dudley Do Right & Jurassic Riv Ad

We have gotten really soaked on JP every time except 1. The other rides are crazy wet. I was wearing a poncho and literally got wet through to my underwear being soaking wet. I didn't like walking around that wet even just out and back to the room.

i stay onsite for a good number of days and when i want to do the water rides, i pick one day for all of them.

i go to the park dressed in quick dry clothes and sandals.

hit the water rides and when done and drenched (undies included), i return to my hotel room to change clothes.

there is no way i could walk around the park and enjoy it with soaked clothes.

dudlely and bluto are the ones i come out like a wet cat.

Honestly, I plan to have the boys in swimsuits and rashguards the days we plan to do the wet rides. We'll all be in quick-dry hiking stuff most days anyway, but that's a must for the water based rides.

I made the mistake of wearing a denim skort on Escape from Pompeii at Busch Gardens once - NEVER again, EVER. My park clothes from now on are quick-dry hiking things.

We brought dry clothes to change into (November) so we could continue touring. Put them in a locker and hit all 3 rides then went to change. Forgot to bring a towel. Had to buy one. We were that soaked.

I was pretty stunned at how wet ripsaw falls leaves you. I've never gotten as drenched on any log flume type ride ever before that. Jurassic Park isn't bad. At least I've only gotten a bit wet on that one. Like splash mountain.

We weren't expecting it either on Ripsaw Falls. We didn't get much more wet on the drop, but the part that was the worst was inside the tunnels as you're approaching the drop. I don't recall exactly how it was, but there was a big splash that came up and over the boat that left everyone soaked. Glad we opted to pay for the lockers here!

Ripsaw also had this one spot just after the big drop where I got a final splash right to the face. Was still laughing about the drop so ended up with a mouthful. Gross.

When we go to IOA I always pack a bag with some flip flops, and some dry knickers! I have never been wetter than when on DDR or Popeye. I always put the flip flops on and put the other dry items in a locker, do all the water rides and then get changed. I can cope with the wet shorts and t-shirt as in the Florida heat they don't take too long to dry but I can't stand have my not-so-smalls wet or my shoes.

I have never bothered with ponchos as it kind of defeats the purpose of a water ride and by everyone else's posts they don't seem to work either.

Jurassic... I got more water from standing next to it when not on the ride.
The other two on the other hand... I was not disappointed in the amount of water that I was hit with. I remember on Popeye, I kept getting lucky and the raft would spin and soak the opposite side I was on. And then it came down to the last dump of water and we bounced, spun, and I was drenched.

Loved every second of them all tho!

Lol......I agree.........like the not so smalls........mine too!!! It is a good idea if you can to bring a change of something.

Yeah ponchos are a waste of time.......just get wet!!

I agree Tygerlilly!, half the fun is watching the other people getting wet and thinking it won't happen to you - it ALWAYS does!!!!

Congratulations to you too! I love your ticker :yay:

Thank you!!! I can't wait for November to get here!

You will get soaked... Lol! Either wear A poncho, wear a swim suit (covered of course) or just wing it and bring a change of clothes. Also, The Popeye/ Bluto Barge ride is Awesome! You will get wet. Just plan for it and you should be ok. Don't forget your flip-flops

We got a bit wet the first time through on Jurrasic Park. Then went right back on and got a good bit more. We were sitting in the 3rd row both times.

Okay, I accept the fact that you're going to get soaked doing these two rides. I know that there is a place to stow your belongings on Bluto's Barges--that plastic-covered area in the centre of the barge--but what about Ripsaw Falls? Is there anything similar inside the log boats? If not, are there lockers nearby? If so, is there a charge to use them?

Lockers near the entrance. $4 for the first hour. What we did was store out stuff at the Bluto's locker (another pay for time locker). Then we walked up to Jurassic Park and worked our way back down ending with Bluto's and had our change of clothes ready there.

I'd say if the Popeye raft is a 10 (usually fully drenched - pretty much like jumping in a pool)
Rip Saw Falls = 6 to 9
Jurassic = 1 to 7

The center waterproof storage on Popeye's raft was 100% effective. We stored all purses with wallets/cell phones inside and they stayed completely dry.

I probably already know the answer to this, but thought it was worth asking just in case. Can you stash your tennis shoes in there or do you have to leave them on your feet? It's not good to have wet shoes that take forever to dry!

Bring a cheap pair of flip flops to wear while riding the wet rides. I believe you have to leave your shoes on, unless you try to sneak them off and stash them after leaving the dock on Bluto. They won't stay dry on Dudley either. JP you will probably be ok.

Yep I concur with all comments. JP hit or miss but that tends to be the case on boat rides like that. DD is a fantastic flume, I love it, but you will be one wet son of gun afterwards. Pluto .... its a raft ride there are no dry seats.
