How were the crowds today 5/2?

I've been hearing about how Mondays have been so busy lately. We have a 2 day trip scheduled for Monday and Tuesday 5/22 and 23. I was wondering how crowded today was? I saw on micechat that yesterday was insane. We can't change our dates so I'm hoping for a better report today. Thanks!

Yesterday was the last day of Food & Wine, and also Bats Day and Dapper Day. Anything that happened yesterday and any carryover to today's crowds is not analogous to crowds on a Monday 2 weeks from now. If you look at the calendar, May 23rd is when Disney switches to 11pm closing for DL. That says that that's when Disney expects Summer crowds to start. It probably won't be the same as 3 events happening on a Sunday, but I think it will likely be busier than the other Mondays in May the precede it.

I was at both parks yesterday in the evening. They were the most empty I've seen in years. Had no problem walking into Rainforest Cafe at 5pm for dinner. Soarin was about a 5 minute wait. We had plenty of choices of places to sit when we got our ice cream bars in CA. I was amazed. It's been a long time since I've actually been able to easily find a place to sit when I am going to eat something. Bug's Life was less than 1/4 full.

Went to Disneyland and was able to walk on for Pirates and haunted Mansion. Fantasyland was already closed when we were there. Only crowded time was when the park was closing and everyone was leaving after the fireworks. They opened up extra walkways behind the shops on mainstreet to help get the crowds out quicker. If yesterday was any indication of how Mondays are, I'll always go on a Monday now.

Great review of your day. Thanks so much for posting. I can only hope it will be similar on the Monday we will be there.
