How were the crowds this week?

It's not definite yet and I'm not sure if I'm crazy enough to do this but I was thinking, MAYBE my little sister and I would go to Disneyland on Friday. We're locals so if we don't go it's alright but my parents will be away so I thought it would be a fun thing to do.

Am I completely nuts for even thinking about it?

We were there on 4th of July and the average wait on the main attactions was about 30-50 minutes for most of the day. (Splash was long due to the heat and the subs did hit the 120 minute mark, though - probably due to seasonal tourism.) We've been going a lot on the weekends over the last 2 months and it has been amazingly light for this time of year. No explanation - maybe the gas and heat. Just take a half gallon thermos of water with you and a couple bottles of Gatorade and you'll make due just fine.

I might be heading out there next Sunday (in my experience, Sunday is lighter than Fridays and Saturdays).

The crowds really aren't that bad, but I would just suggest to show up early. I always tend to show early, and the lines are really light the first 2-3 hours to the point where you can do a significant amount of attractions in a short time (i.e. all the Fantasyland dark rides). In my experiences, lines rarely get above 60 minutes with the exceptions of Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, and Nemo.
