How well has the Magic been kept up?

Over the last couple of days I have become very addicted to this board. Sorry for all of the questions, but it has been several years since my last cruise on the Magic.

So, how well has it been kept up? Any signs of wear that were disappointing? In October 2001, the only issues I saw was a number of decor items in Palo were broken and not well maintained, and water damage outisde the excercise room? So, has Disney done a good job maintaining the ship or is the Magic showing her age? Also, any enhancements since 2001 to CC?

Thanks!

The Magic was in Dry Dock in October 2003 for two weeks for changes and refurbishing. She looked fantastic to me when we sailed in May. The main changes are that they converted the ESPN skybox to the teen club "The Stack" and cut a large window (porthole) in the side of the old Common Grounds teen club and made the area into a VERY relaxing coffee bar area. I believe they moved the sports viewing to Diversions but someone else can speak more about that.

The way the CMs were constantly cleaning and polishing while we were on board, I can't imagine the Magic EVER looking shabby.

We saw the video of drydock while on the ship and they explained how they refurbished the areas and put in new carpet and even a completely new teak deck near the adult pool.

Since the cruise in May was our first, I don't know about any changes to CC. But I loved it. The adult beach was definitely Serenity Bay...and I got the sunburn to prove it!
