MY DW and I are considering at Transatlantic crossing on the Magic next May from Florida to Spain. How well does the Magic handle rough weather and/or Atlantic crossings?

I have been on some ships that ride out storms very smoothly and others rock and roll at the least little thing.

The Magic and the Wonder are well designed, easy riding vessels, I have seen them in 14 foot swells and they take them very well!

Now the Dream and the Fantasy???..........we shall see!

Have a great time!

Was on Magic in 06 on an Eastern Crib and on a sea day the waves were 18 feet +. We were at the adult pool, the water was rolling back and forth spilling over the ends of the pool. We went down to the room and there was no motion at all. If we hadn't gone to the pool, we would not have know about the bad waves. We got the information on the wave heigths on a tour later that day.

We were on the Magic during Hurricane Noel in 2007. DH and I were fine but many folks were green. All the pools had to be closed because the water was just sloshing out of them. At times it was a bit hard to walk around, like being tipsy without a drink! :)

I will say, for being right on the edge of the hurricane, we basically were in good shape. And that's extreme conditions for a cruise, probably not comparable to typical "rough seas". We've had those too and they never bother us (we don't have motion issues, though). 2007 was a memorable cruise!

We did the EB crossing in 2006. Lots of waves, but no real problems.
What spooked us was not seeing another ship for 5 days.

We would definitely do it again.

The magic and wonder are very goos ships. they were designed to be smooth sailing vessels. However we have always had good wether. My favorite quote regarding cruises is when my brother asked my mom about rought seas and she responded by saying, Well, you see those handrails everywhere? Lets just say those aren't just for old people." At the time we had never even realized how rough the seas can get. although one day we did have some larger waves in the caribbean and i noticed i was walking straight down the hall but i would actually weave from side to side. I also niticed that on that same day not very many people were at dinner! My family handles sea travel very well, except my brother who got sea sick while snorkleing! :rotfl2: the fish a a nice meal that day!!
