How Was Your Experience with Your Resale Agent

I thought this might be helpful for people looking to buy resales. Less than thirty minutes ago i heard that I passed ROFR on my first DVC property. I am very excited and wanted to express my gratitude towards the resale agent that helped me through the process. Additionally, while reading the many posts on these Boards, I have heard some pretty bad stories about dealings with agents. As such, I figured that if we discussed our dealings with the various agents, maybe there will be some accountability and perhaps the agents who are doing their job well will be recognized and actually requested by new potential buyers. I can honestly say that when I look to add onto my contract, I will specifically request Jason from the Timeshare store to assist me.

I actually contacted Jason with the type of property I was looking for and once it became available, he called me immediatley. I submitted my paperwork on 1/27 and heard today (13 days later) that I passed ROFR on a BWV property. I have to say that Jason never promised anything, and made me fully aware that Disney can basically do what they wanted to, and that there was no set formula for the process. He also advised me that in the event that the contract was refused, he would continue to assist me in searching for a comparable property.

Furthermore, Jason was consistently available by phone and always seemed to have time for the stupid questions that this first-timer had to have answered. I never felt like I was being rushed off the phone without the information I had called for.

In sum, if anyone is currently looking for a resale, and wants someone who will be courteous, honest and helpful, don't hesitate to call Jason at TTS.

I was wondering if anyone had experiences with a resale agent that were good/bad?? Thanks

Used Pat Spell at the Timeshare Store. She was professional, prompt in following up on any requests and knew the DVC program and market well.

I've used Pat Spell at the Timeshare Store as well as Jaki at A Timeshare Broker.

Both provided excellent service and handled the transactions efficiently. I wouldn't hesitate to use either of them again in the future.

I had a wonderful experience but, as many of you know, can't post the name or website here. It's unfortunate. She was top notch and I recommend her highly. I can only suggest searching under DVC resale or Timeshare resale at Yahoo,Google etc. to locate her business.

Mine has been wonderful from the TSS! I have to also say, that I've received excellent customer service from Jason and Pat when Kristie was off. I've asked the typical 'questions' about UY and banking, eventhough, I probably should have already known the answer. (I've been on the DVC fence for about 5 mos) Mainly, I've spent time on the phone trying to offer the 'right' $ per point just to get through ROFR, making sure having 2 different UY at same resort will work out for me. :earsgirl: :confused3
I'm not completely done with the purchase of one contract, but so far, it's been a positive experience.

Jaki Apetz at A Timeshare Store. Friendly, dependable, professional and followed up on everything. Great communication throughout the process. I'd give her a 10 out of 10.

Same here. Jaki was much nicer to deal with than our DVC guide for our first purchase. If we ever buy again, we'd call her without any hesitation. I called the sponser here, but they never called me back, maybe a busy day.

I also used the same broker as Par8head. She was very efficient, capable, and kept us in the loop at all times. I would not hesitate to use her again. ::yes::

I purchased 2 contracts from 2 different realtors at the same time so I am able to compare the quality of service. I have to agree with Par8hed - the one that we are not allowed to mention was outstanding. If I ever purchase again I will definitely go back to her!

Why are we not allowed to mention this person??

I've used Pat Spell, great service. Used Reid, not so personable maybe, but effective in the end.

I have actually bought contracts from each of the "big three", and my favorite is also the "one that cannot be named"...although, I have had wonderful experiences with all of them!!

It is my understanding that "the one who cannot be named" is a former employee/associate of the Timeshare Store, who sponsors this board. I learned this by accident while reading all I could on the web about DVC awhile back and I came across a several year old home web page detailing the owners great experience with DVC and good service using _______ from the Timeshare Store! I, too, have dealt with her (though the contract got bought back by DVC) and really enjoyed working with her.

Oops! Sorry!! I'm going to call my agent this morning to ask about ROFR status. :confused3 TSS has been great to work with, receptionists too!

I have used TTS 2.5 times now!

I have dealt with Jason, and I give him very high marks!

I bought an OKW resale (initial purchase) and a BWV resale, and even though I wanted to pay more (gasp!) he was spot on with ROFR.

Unfortunately my beautiful triple (all '03, '04' & '05) VWL resale was ROFERed (thus the .5 of 2.5 times!), but Jason held my hand throughout the wait, and wept with me for the loss.

I plan on trying again for a VWL triple with Jason, once it becomes available.

I have also bought SSR direct from Disney, and while a very easy process, it was more expensive (at least back in September of '04).

If prices continue to go nuts, I'll probably do a VWL add-on through Disney, timing it to get the current year points as well.

Final Point, for us the TTS and Jason are great!

We also bought our BWV contract from the person who cannot be mentioned on this site and had a great experience. She also has an awesome assistant that is wonderful to work with as well.

Scotch...yes, you are right. A long time ago, she did help start TTS.
