How Was 4th Of July At Poly Last Year?

We went 4th of July week 2002 and stayed at GF. We stayed in Conch Key and had an awesome view of the fireworks on the 4th right from our balcony.

This year we are staying at the Poly and plan to watch the display from the Poly beach.

How were they from there? Did you pick a spot to sit way before the fireworks? Was it really crowded on the beach?

We stayed there last year. It was very crowded. People started showing up at around 4, taking all of the pool towels and all the chairs from the pool and first floor patios. For the most part, no one bothered putting them back or throwing away their trash. I felt bad for the lifeguards that were working that night. I'm sure those poor kids were up very late rounding up all of the chairs, towels and trash. It would be a shame if they had to restrict the resort to "guests only" because of the people that make a mess.

We just went out right before the fireworks started and watched from the pool area. The view was fine from there. If you have a first floor room near the beach, you may want to bring the chairs inside.

Wow, people were taking chairs from patios? Thats just not right.

As crowded as it was, we didn't have to scope out a spot or anything. We were at the pool and just walked out when the fireworks started. The view is good from just about anywhere.
