How valuable will DVC be after Star wars opens?

Just looking at the sky high prices that WDW hotels command now, I can't help but wonder how valuable DVC will be in the next year or two, especially if Star Wars is as good as FOP.

Glad I took the DVC plunge more than 20 years ago even if we broke all the rules by financing our luxury purchase.

It pays to be a rebel sometimes.

To me it will still be as valuable as it always has been. To future resale buyers, if it is half the cost of a current room it is a good value. I guess it will depend on how much Disney raises room rates.

I agree that the only comparison is to Disney hotel room rates and the savings over those.

In the past, new additions to the parks have not been a driving force behind increases in resale or rental prices for points for any WDW DVC resorts, e.g., Pandora opened in May 2017 and AKV prices followed that for the resorts as a whole for increases leading up to and after the opening, and BWV and BCV did not have any changes from the regular patterns with the opening of Toy Story Land. Increases typically come slowly over time. Resale prices are particularly impacted by market conditions and Disney's periodic increases in the price of points. Rental prices, for which there has never even arguably been a "bull" market for increases, have increased little more in the last 20 years than the amount needed to keep up with national inflation rates.

There may be some modest bump. I'm sure Star Wars land will generate a lot of interest. Just not sure how many of those people will be driven to return year-after-year just because of the one expansion.

I've been debating about selling my OKW points (keeping BCV), and it seems like prices have been pretty good. Higher than when I sold a small contract about 8 years ago! Maybe I will wait and see, but since it expires in 2032 there's got to be a dropping off point.

I’ll say it, not a fan of the movie & just don’t get the fuss re FoP after riding it at least 10 times. Will file it under there’s something for everyone to enjoy!

That said, SW better deliver the goods lol, I am emotionally invested in that franchise.

As for increasing value of my DVC, in theory i suppose. Since i rarely rent my points & have no interest in selling them, the the inherent value is being able to book X trips per year on points. Hopefully, demand won’t get even worse for those already difficult bookings at 11 months (studios @ BC Standard & AKV-value).
