How to Watermark?

How do you add a watermark with Photoshop Elements? I use PhotoStudio (came with my Rebel) which is very similar to PSE.

I just came across Mason's recent watermark thread. I agree, they are often misused and detract enormously from the picture. I'm looking more to add a barely noticeable, transparent 'signature' to a few certain pics. Suggestions?

Oh boy, here we go! Everybody duck! The last time watermarks were discussed, things started flying, I think!

I have never tried watermarking anything. My stuff is not good enough yet...

this might help, i am guessing you could make it as opaque or transparent as you want by adjusting the layer transparency

I think it would be a litle more subtle if you used lime green text....

glad you made it diagonal very artsy but you might need to make the castle a little more subtle as i can't read all the print..

There are some people around here who are very good at Photoshop. I bet if you ask them, they can help you clone out that anoying castle in the background so that your water mark really shows through!

what a brilliant idea....

I removed the annoying castle and darkened the sky, my watermark shows up sooooooooooo much better now... thanks...

I'm not quite so sure about that...it only took me a matter of seconds to steal her pic and use it... I copied it, then I erased all the annoying stuff around her watermark, then I cloned the watermark to the edges..used my magic wand to select the whole area then cloned in the obvious missing pieces... and here is her original picture....
