How to wash black pants without them getting covered with lint!

Every time I wash my black slacks, they come out of the washer covered with lint! I use a lint roller on them when they are dry, but that doesn't even get it all off!! Help!!

and I'm not washing them with anything "linty" so I don't even know where it's coming from, and nothing else in the same load has this problem!

They are either linting up themselves or they are of a fabric that attracts lint in a major way. Usually when I get something like that, I just get rid of it.

My suggestion would be to wash the pants on the delicate cyle, inside out. Don't put them in the dryer, just hang them up to dry.

I am always very careful to sort blacks with only black, and nothing else, at all, in that load... (same with whites)

I don't put them in the dryer anyway (shrinking them would be a bad thing ) but I will try washing them on delicate and inside-out. I'll try anything!

I wanted to add: wash them without anything else.

How much soap do you add-try using very little soap and see if that helps. I would also put them on air fluff in the dryer with a damp wash rag after you hang them. The dryer is what takes the lint off and since you are not using the dryer you will have the lint problem.

I even tried washing them with vinegar this last time after reading all the miracles of that substance on here Didn't help.

Vinegar is for odors, not lint.

I agree that the dryer on air fluff is what takes lint off.

I send a lot to the cleaners. I love the cleaners. Lint seems like a perfectably acceptable reason to send them to the cleaners. I my dry cleaner.

When DH washes clothes himself, he doesn't put fabric softener in. He complains that his black pants are covered in lint. When I wash, I always use fabric softener (liquid- just pour in the dispenser when loading clothes). Everything comes out static and lint-free. Everything is nice and soft, and the whole load smells good.

No, it is just air and tumbling, no heat (which is what shrinks them). I use it all the time to get wrinkles out of things I had to air dry.
