How to walk from Boardwalk Area or Epcot to MGM?

Can I get there by foot? What's the best way?

From Epcot - leave out of back entrance by England - walk to BW - about 10min
From MGM - Walk along canal to BW - Walk about 20min
I'd take the boat from Disney studios to BW instead of walking
The boat from BW to Epcot - it takes longer to wait for a boat then to walk

Hi, riaesq. The shortest way is to follow the Boardwalk Resort side.

Once past the Boardwalk, the only way with a sidewalk is along the Boardwalk villas next to the canal, under a bridge, to the MGM parking lot, along the MGM lake to the entrance.

You could also take the boat launch from Epcot to MGM, too.

If I walk along the canal from BW, don't I just wind up at Epcot? Also can you walk from Epcot to MGM?

Be careful! DBF and I took a wrong turn somewhere, and ended up walking over an hour along the highway, with no sidewalk!

When you are standing outside of the BW facing the water go right to Epcot and go left to Disney Studios. As long as you stay on the walking path you won't get lost. We walked to Disney Studiod each time and ended up arriving before the boats. I loved to start my day with a "warm up"

I have walked it many times...it is one of the reasons that we always stay in an Epcot resort as we can walk to Epcot and enter through the International Gateway...or we can walk from the Boardwalk past the Boardwalk inn and resort following that route, under the bridge, and onward to MGM...it is a nice walk too..

I don't know if this cuts off much of any time, but I always take this short-cut (or non-short cut): Walking along the Boardwalk from the ESPN club, when you see the Village Green, turn in there. Go past Wyland Gallery, then take a right through a "tunnel" pass through. You'll come out by the clown pool. Stay on the left of the pool and look for the walkway next to the canal. Turn left onto that walkway and you'll be headed towards MGM.
