How to use 4th FP+

I've done two trips now with the FP+ system. On both trips, I've used all three FP's throughout my day (usually at MK), and should've had access to a 4th. I've never been able to actually book a 4th FP in the same park using the Disney app. I'm assuming I'm missing something.

Do I have to book the 4th FP at a kiosk?

Is there a rule that your 3 original FPs must all be used by early afternoon to get a 4th?

Obviously I don't expect a 4th FP when I used my last regular FP 30 minutes before park close, but on my last trip we used our last FPs by 6pm, the MK closed at 12am, but we never got access to book a 4th FP using the MDE app (admittedly we didn't try a kiosk - lines were crazy long).

1) You cant use the APP you must use the kiosk
2) Yes
3) no. the rule is you must use your 3 (or time of the 3rd fast pass must have expired) before you can go to a kiosk and get a 4th. The time of day is irrelevant to your being able to access at a kiosk a 4th FP. Of course what is available is often impacted.
4) Yes many folks figure the lines at the kiosk vs the lines at SB and waiting for a FP is about the same as waiting for the ride sometimes depending on what is available and how long waits are.

Some FP+ kiosks are busier than others, though! The Magic Kingdom and Liberty Square ones tend to be busiest, from what I've seen, but the Adventureland and Tomorrowland ones usually aren't so bad. If you're looking to quickly pick up a 4th (or 5th, 6th, whatever) fastpass those are probably your best bets. :thumbsup2

There seems to be a problem with #3.

We visited AK one day during our trip and because we ran late we only used one FP+. This was at the safari and the CM's were having trouble with the FP+ machines. We hopped to Epcot and tried to get a fourth and the system didn't allow it even though it was way past the time of the last AK FP+. The CM said that all three FP's showed as never used so the system wasn't letting us make any more. We had to go to Guest Services who deleted all three for us so we could try for a fourth FP.

Yes Glitchy sometimes. I double checked my checking out MESABOY's Fastpass thread (my source for all things FP+ shout out to Mesaboy!) and it is "used or expired".

I've never gotten a 4th FP that was worth the effort of going to a kiosk, waiting in the sun and crossing the park.

Yesterday mid-afternoon at the IG all I could get was Figment or Captain EO

This week I got a 4th FP+ in MK at 12:00 noon for Pirates (8:00 PM FP+). The FP+ kiosks were all crazy busy except for the Heritage House kiosk next to Hall of Presidents. I walked in during the parade and was the only person there. HH is not on the park map and is only open during super busy times I'm told.

I tried for a 4th at Epcot at 3:00 PM in Innoventions West/Walkway to The Land. Again I walked right up. They only had EO, Figment, Nemo and Turtle Talk available, so I didn't get one.

I also learned something else I didn't know. Another group in our party had FP+ for AK in the morning. They used all 3 at AK and then hopped to MK. They went to a FP+ kiosk and the lady helped them schedule 3 more FP+ for MK. I asked my friend if they had to schedule the 3 MK FP+ one at a time - use the 4th then schedule the 5th, use the 5th then schedule the 6th, etc. She said no, the lady scheduled all 3 at once.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but there's also the little matter of not knowing what's available until AFTER you've waited in that kiosk line.

I just wanted to update my previous post. I finally talked to the wife in the story above (which I heard from her husband).. Turns out the husband didn't get the details quite right. They had 3 FP+ for AK. They hit rope drop and didn't need to use two of them. For the 3rd FP+ the ride broke down and they were given one of those special "all day, any ride" FPs. They used it for Bug's Life then hopped to MK. At the MK FP kiosk all 3 of their AK FP+s were showing as unused (even the "special" FP showed as unused) so they changed them all out for 3 MK FP+s. Sorry if I got anyone excited about the possibilities.

There is an APP Touring Lines that will tell you the wait times for all the rides AND the available fast pass times for rides. So if you have that APP you will see what fast passes are still available.

I don't know if this was fixed from last summer, but one thing we learned was that as soon as you move through the second Fast Pass scanner, you can pull up the app and move your next two fastpasses forward. We had FP at 9-10, 10-11, and 11-12. At 9:10 we crossed the second scanner and we move the second one to 9:30. At 9:40 we hit the 2 ride and move the last one forward to 10:10.

I'm not sure TP has access to this information.

It depends on availability. I was never able to do it but we only went during peak crowds.

I just purchased the Touring Plans Lines App and it does show Fast Pass + Availability for the particular day you are looking at. For instance, right now it is showing me all availability for Arial for Wed 9/2 (today) and there are many fast pass times available, but for Dwarf's Mine Train it shows "gone" That said, I have no idea how accurate the app is...I haven't used it in the park yet.

Does the app mention if the availability it shows is for a certain party size? I know the Dibb site does it based on a party of 4.

Do you purchase the App itself or if you are a TP subscriber you log in on the free APP?

Having the FP+ available times on an APP is HUGE. I can't tell you how frustrating it is to wait for a kiosk and then have nothing available except over your dining reservation which will cost you if you miss.

No need to delete the unused fast passes .. it is actually a GOOD thing that you have unused fast passes.

What I found on my last visit:
I had three fast passes at DHS .. the first fast pass (Disney Junior) wasn't needed it was so early we just walked in the standby line and never scanned our FP and the theater was like 1/4 full.

I tried to get a 4th fast pass later at a kiosk, but it wouldn't let me. What I discovered is that my Disney Junior fast pass was unused, so it would let me just "reassign" that unused FP to whatever I want. I didn't even have to be at a kiosk to do that ... so I basically got a "free" 4th fast pass that I could easily manipulate from my phone rather than going to a kiosk. So the rest of the day I was able to toy with that Fast Pass to see what was available later. I just used it to sign up for Fantasmic .. and then later the day switched it over to Rock-N-Roller Coaster when we decided we weren't going to Fantasmic (there was FP availability 5 minutes from when I was checking at 7:35 at night).

So .. if you have early Fast Passes that aren't needed .. just go through the standby line and don't scan your bracelet and immediately reassign them via your app. Much easier than standing in line at a Kiosk.

As for Kiosks .. I only use them to get a 4th fast pass if I happen to be NEAR one .. I sometimes plan my fast passes around ending up NEAR one(so I can easily snag one during a bathroom break).
DHS is such a small park you are pretty much always near one. MK simply doesn't have enough for the size of the park (and amount of people) (They really need to put the ones back in Storybook Circus)
I've found the one at Guest Relations in Town Square to be the shortest line, but only use that if I am heading out of the park for a midday break (or back in later in the afternoon.

TouringPlans' Lines app uses a party size of 1 when displaying available FP+ times. It mentions this in a small disclaimer above the available times. Sometimes the listings were delayed by as much as 2 hours, but most of the time they were more up to date.

I got really excited until I logged in and noticed this. They do the same thing on their website. The party of 1 information is basically useless. (Unless of course you are touring alone.)
