How to update MDE?

I apologize, because I know for sure that this has been addressed on these boards, but I couldn't find it in a search for some reason.

Once a DVC reservation number has been put into MDE it seems to be in there "permanently" - if you modify your DVC res, since the res number stays the same - how do you make MDE update so it matches your modifications?

I tried just adding a reservation in MDE, but that didn't work because it says that "reservation already exists" - yes, it does, but it's wrong...

Any ideas? Thanks.

Re-do online check in and it will automatically change.

EDIT: I just read in another thread that I should do the online check-in to fix it. I've never done the online check-in - how far ahead of time can I do that? My res isn't until December.

You can do it whenever and modify it whenever.

If the on-line check in doesn't update your new reservation automatically, just wait a few days and it should update on it's own (another one of Disney's bizarre IT issues) This happened to me a few weeks ago.

I have “modified” the reservation without really modifying anything. That technique has worked to update MDE for me several times.

MDE usually updates it really quickly, like close to real time. I've always gotten it to work by logging out of MDE and logging back in.
