How to transfer points??

Looking for some assistance.

In an earlier posting, I stated that I was renting out points.

In some of the replies, members talk about "transferring" points.

I understand how to do the "renting" part - I make the reservation in the renter's name.

But, how does a "transfer" work?

Appreciate any info.

You can send an email to MS (there is a link off of the site) stating your name and mem #, the number of points requesting to be transfered (also note if there is more than one resort on your contract which resort points) and the person you want to transfers complete name and mem. #.

You will get a confirmation of e-mail immed. and a conf or denial of transfer with 2 business days.

But, I have another question...can I revoke the transfer? I'm wondering what type of protection do I have in the event that the transferee defaults on paying for the points?

No, you can't "revoke" a transfer. Renting and transferring both entail some trust on both sides of the transaction. Any protections would have to be negotiated between buyer and seller. Perhaps you could ask for a portion of the $$ in advance or agree to accept payment via paypal or other third party intermediary.

You should also know that only current use year points can be transferred to another member. You cannot transfer points that have been banked or borrowed. You also cannot transfer points into your account and also transfer points out of your account in the same year.

Unless you know someone personally and there is no doubt things will go fine, get payment in advance.
