I don't know that the transfer will process before the hold drops, so you may need to make the deposit in the meantime. Contact the TA and ask for a form to transfer a DCL reservation to them. Be aware that depending on the agency, the "perk" provided by the TA may be reduced for a transferred reservation.
Assuming you booked direct with Disney, and want to transfer to a TA - they (the TA) will have the form to for you to sign and fill out. They have 30 days to do so from the time that you booked.
It is worth noting that your TA will potentially lose commission this way (we often get less commission as transfers, depending on the status of the agency with Disney). Since it doesn’t seem like you have put any money down, it could be worth it to cancel and jsut have the TA book as a new reservation. I only say this because the onboard credit I give to clients comes from my commissions , so I’m apt to give a higher OBC when I have a higher commission (if that makes sense).
I’m a TA, not affiliated with ones from the Disboards- just sharing info hope this helps!
In order to transfer a reservation it must have the deposit paid, but not be paid in full. The transfer has to be complete within 30 days of booking the reservation.
I don't know about other agencies but if you are looking for Dreams Unlimited, they have a transfer form to fill our right on their website. Once that is reviewed you will get another form to print, fill out, scan and send back. They can then process the transfer from there.
