how to tie my points into rented points?

I have enough of my own points for a Sun-Fri stay. Am thinking of adding Friday night to the ressie but I'd have to rent points (or a cash reservation). If I rent your points, do you give MS my confirmation number thereby extending the stay? It's not a seperate reservation, right? How does that work?

You and the other owner both ask MS to "Link" the two reservations so that they appear to the resort as one continuous stay.

To do this, both reservations must be for the exact same thing. For example, if your reservation is at the BCV for a dedciated 2 bedroom unit with two queen beds in the second bedroom, the other reservation must also be for that. Itcan't be for a dedicated 2 bedroom with one queen bed and a sleep sofa in the second bedroom.

Note that some unit types at some resorts cannot be reserved for cash. For example, the guaranteed Boardwalk view units are reserved for members using points. They are not available to members for cash even if they want to extend their points stay with a cash night or two.
