We finally made our reservations for our cruise and have decided to take out 10-year old niece as a Christmas present (and of course to help us entertain our daughter)
Any
Any good suggestions on how to tell her about it Christmas morning???

Make a scavenger hunt throughout your home and have the final clue be Disney Dollars with a note for her to spend this on her cruise!

:hyper:

Purchase one of those little stuffed boats with Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Donald beanie bags aboard... in ebay for around $10.00 and wrap that up for her... I would think she would be jumping for joy!:Pinkbounc

Good luck , let us know what you end up doing....:wave2:

Check out the other thread about Post Cards to announce your upcoming cruise. One of the very kind readers of this board sent us one and it was great.

Many past cruisers have some of the little shampoo and lotion packs from the ship....one of those in a stocking? I really like the scavenger hunt idea!

Buy a little toy bathtub boat, you know, the ones with the windows, and cut out a photo of her and cut out a photo of Mickey and put them into the windows of the boat/ship. I did this with a race car for my husband when I bought him a drive in a Nascar. It was sooo cute and I think it would work perfectly in a boat! You could write Magic/Wonder on the side of the boat too!

I'm surprising my mom with a Disney cruise for christmas. I bought one of those shirts from the disney catalouge that you can personalize. its got mickey and the gang on it and underneath says :

mom's birthday cruise 2004

(we set sail on her birthday! two birds with one stone!)

the shirt wasn't too expensive (19.99) and thought it would be neat to watch her face as she figured it out. maybe you get matching shirts for your daughter and neice for them to wear on board?

Do you have a Disney planning video or cruise brochure? I think AAA use to have Disney Brochures. Maybe you could wrap it up and send her on a treasure hunt for different clues. For our kids very first Disney Cruise we printed out a picture of the Disney ship and Mickey Mouse near it and then mounted it on heavy cardstock and cut it out like puzzle pieces and wrapped each one seperately. They had to get all the puzzle pieces before they could start assembling it but once they got it all together they started screaming and yelling.

Boy, do we think alike Kristin, I am purchasing those shirts too in the Disney catalog with a personalization for our upcoming cruise...:) I thought they were so cute...and you can get anything you want on them.
Actually princesslondon can get those in sweatshirts or teeshirts for your whole crew that is going sailing! Thats a nice idea too!::yes:: Have fun!

Thanks for all the awesome ideas!!!
I knew this was the perfect place to get all the info I was looking for. I think I'll try a combo of the scavenger hunt and a few other suggestions.
Thanks again!!!
