Hi Everyone
We are back from a great trip to WDW and I wanted to update ya all on how the surprise went.
We got to BWV around 6pm on a rainy Saturday Evening and I txted my brother "Having fun by the pool?". They were actually at MK, sans ponchos, but still having a great time.
He asked if there was anything special to do for Heidi (his wife's) birthday and I told him that we had arranged a special Scavenger Hunt for her starting Sunday morning. I said that her first clue was to be at the Main Street Barber shop at 10:30 and take a picture of the cutest baby at WDW. He was all excited about the scavenger hunt and I thought for sure he'd figured out we were there. OF course, every Mom thinks her baby is the cutest baby, so I thought he got it that we were at Disney!
However, I was totally wrong!
We waited outside the Barber shop until 11:30 and I was getting really worried. One of my nieces always ends up needing some sort of medical attention every WDW trip, so I thought that they'd gotten hurt or something. I kept sending him messages and finally he responded that they were on Soarin' at EPCOT. WT..???
I told him we were getting on the monorail to head over to Epcot and then he
finally got it that we were at WDW. His txt's were unreadable because he couldn't type right due to excitement. He promised not to tell his wife or my nieces and we'd meet at the Seas.
We had the slowest monorail ride ever over to Epcot, but we finally got there. He and I were txting back and forth (which I'm sure was annoying Heidi to no end) .."At Nemo", "On Monorail", "Watching Fishies", "At Epcot Gate", "Heading into Turtle Talk", "Entering the Seas"...
Finally we spotted him in the TT waiting area and he was smiling so big! Lillian was all excited to see her Uncle that she squealed the loudest squeal ever. It was so cute.
We walked outside of the Seas and I saw one of my nieces sitting on a bench, she stared at Lil & I like she knew us, but wasn't sure how she knew us and then she started jumping up and down yelling "Mom, Mom!! Aunties and Lil are here!" Heidi's jaw literally dropped and she stared at us with her mouth open for the longest time. It was so funny. She was so happy that we surprised her for her birthday. It was great.
We had a wonderful time with them and it was just an awesome week. Lillian loved the Biergarten the best (Good German kid that she is) and had a blast dancing the polka and the chicken dance with her cousins. In fact, she liked it so much, we went there twice! We also went to the Spirit of the Poly dinner show and she loved the fire spinning.
We didn't have any ADR's planned, but were able to get into where ever we wanted to eat without an issue. It was really nice to be able to be so flexible as usually I compulsively plan my ADR's at the 180 day mark. My brother's family doesn't do that, so it was a good experience for me.
Lil loved the pool at the Beach Club and also the kiddy water area at Typhoon. She had some good naps in her stroller and the best nap of all while riding the People Mover. She fell asleep in Space Mountain and they let my wife stay on the People Mover with Lil for 90 minutes while Lil slept! My wife got a nap too.
It really was a great trip and we are already talking about going together again next year!
Thanks for helping me with the surprise.
