How to Surprise Mom?

I have arranged to take my mom to Vegas for her 60th birthday/Xmas present this year, it will be a TOTAL surprise to her, she's never been away from New England all her life. Tomorrow is her birthday, how should I surprise her, your advise would be appreciated!

How about putting the airplane ticket in her birthday card?

I need to confirm with her which week she is able to go due to work, etc. So I want to wait until I have a definite date to book airfare. I have hotel reservations for the week I think will work best, I was going to put a copy of that in a box and wrap but wanted something original and out of the oridinary.

You could hire someone to deliver the present w/the hotel info...maybe a male dancer? Maybe she could guess it was a trip to Vegas from that.

How about wrapping up a few rolls of quarters for the slots?

We gave my parents a trip to Vegas last Christmas. Since we didn't know the exact dates they wanted to go we gave them the cash. But we got a small gift box and filled it with a small airplane (matchbox), chocolate coins wrapped in gold foil, a deck of cards, dice, poker chips, etc. It was a big hit, and it only took them a few minutes to figure out the surprise!

Thanks for your ideas. My boyfriend decided to pick up a cake at Carvel with the "Welcome to Vegas" sign on it and I've downloaded the hotel brochure and stuck it in between 2 Disney t'shirts, we'll wait to see how she reacts!
