How to subtract two guests on reservation?

One couple won't be able to make our dinner and I try to put in the correct number but I keep getting a message that says "no available tables at that time". I don't want to be charged for the two no shows.

Did you try to call? I think it will be easier to explain the situation and change the ADR.

I wouldn't change it, there won't be a no-show fee for the missing parties.

You could call, out of courtesy to others trying to book an ADR. But you could also do nothing and there will be no penalty.

Does the no penalty still count if it's a rivers of light package? My reservation is for 4 but only 3 are going and calling from Canada can get pretty pricey.

It sucks. I have a BOG reservation for 9 and now only need 4. But I cannot reduce it. I would call and reduce it but don't feel comfortable enough to do it - worried the CM would just cancel and then book it again at which point someone else might snag it in those few seconds.

Oddly enough, I had another hard to get ADR that was easy to modify to reduce guests.

Disney 's ADR system is a mystery to me.

On the other hand, what happens if you reserve for 2 and show up with four people? (Can you sense my desperation????!!!!)

You're not getting in, most likely.

Showing up with fewer is ok, showing up with more is not.

ETA: What reservation is it for?

I'd keep looking for cancellations if you need to add. It's not one of the hot ADR's so you'll hopefully have some luck. As we always say... keep checking back often, things open up as people get closer to their trips and drop reservations.

Thanks so much! Sorry to hijack this thread.

I don't think you risk losing your ADR, because the CM won't discard your reservation until he/she finds you another one. On the other hand, you will allow at least 1 more family to go to BOG. As it is a very hard ADR to find.. I don't feel it's fair to keep 5 places in a table you won't use :confused3

Which is why I have been trying to reduce it. Been fruitlessly searching and clicking "change reservation " but so far, nothing. Will be calling Disney soon about something else and will ask if the CM is able to reduce it on their end (it costs me long distance to call Disney from Canada and the wait times are often 10-30 mins for me so calling is mot as easy/free for me as for Americans) Judging from reports in the Dis about reducing guests on hard to get ADRs, I am not holding out hope. Maybe another Diser would like to join my party that day! :) :)

Good luck with your reservation. It is stressful and not having a toll free number makes this all even more difficult. Have an amazing trip!

One other suggestion - use the touring plans reservation finder and ask for the size party and the time you want. If they can find you one, you can cancel the larger party reservation and keep the one for the smaller party. I have had very good luck using this service to get even scarce ADRs. You do have to be vigilant. They will notify you that something is available, but you have to be able to jump on it to get it, as others are probably looking for the same thing.
