How to start?

Hey, I am so excited and ready to start my Disney World scrapbook, but I'm so afraid I'm going to mess it up. Do you guys usually start at the beginning of your vacation? Where do you start? I want this book to be awesome! I just don't know where to start to get into it. I guess I could just start where I have some ideas? I'm just curious where everyone starts when they begin their Disney books!

I just start picking out pictures - there is "order" to my Disney scrapbook. Of course there's no "order" to my life either!

I usually start with a title page and then an airport or on-the-road page.

I group my photos by park instead of in the order they were taken. I think it makes my album flow better, but that is just my choice. I always group character photos together, too.

Then, I subdivide the pictures from one of the parks into ones that go together. These I stack onto a 12 x 12 square of cardboard in a tray, top with cardboard and more pictures, etc.

When I have a good pile, I start matching paper with each level of the stack and search for stickers or paper piecing patterns that would work. I find that working by park also helps in this area. When you are doing Animal Kingdom photos you narrow your scope and zero in on Lion King, Tarzan, dinosaurs, etc.

When I actually sit down to scrap, I have my ideas, supplies, etc ready and in front of me. The part that I don't like is over and done. I like the actual creating process.

One of these days I'll get around to scanning some of my pages so I can share them with you guys. I just never seem to have the time to take an album apart and play with the scanner.

and the only problem I am having so far is trying to figure out the title page. I have started one album that is only autographs. We have about 35 + autographs and pics to go with each one, so that is one 8 1/2 by 11 album. Then I am doing a chronological album (12 x 12). I wrote a really detailed trip report for each day, and printed it out. I will add that to the book doing a two page spread for each day of the trip report, then follow that up with a bunch of pics from that day.

For a title page on the big book, I will be probably doing some sort of either paper piecing with the castle, or a big Mickey head. I haven't decided.

I have soooo many photos from sooo many trips that I decided to
do a separate album, of just characters(in alphabetical order). It
will probably always be in progress. It is 8 1/2 x 11, and the title is: "Close Encounters of The Character Kind".

I usually scrap 12 x 12 and include trips within my family albums, ut the more I get into this, the more photos I take and now do separate albums for each trip. I have only been scrapping for 1 1/2 years and have completed two and 1/2 albums in chronological order, 1999, 2000, and thru June of 2001. Our Feb vacation in 2001(to Disney World) will be in a separate album, I am my own worst enemy since the more I scrap, the more photos I take and I doubt I will ever get caught up.

Thank you all for all your ideas! I am always looking for me, though. Keep them coming!

MerryPoppins, you way of organzing sounds good. I might have to try it. I have already seperated my pictures by park, and I think that will make the album look a little better except for the fact that the people in the pictures have different clothes on! Tee-hee.

I'll keep you guys posted on my progress!
