Tried a knife...broke into more than 2 pieces.

Any suggestions?

Bite it! (Just don't forget to spit out the other half). ;)

Had that surgery yet???

Try breaking it in half just using your fingers. That works with some pills.

I would, but it's for the cat and I sure as heck don't want to take his meds! :lmao:

Nope, Aug 13. Next wed. I'm nervous as heck!

Did you try a serated knife? You could saw back and forth so it would not split, might work better.

Okay then put it in a ziploc bag then bite it.

 Surgery will be fine. You'll be back CVSing in no time!

If you use a knife and hold both sides of the blade and use even pressure while cutting it will split without breaking into several pieces. I do this all the time for DS vitimans.

For the past ten days I've had to split pills for my dog and the first few times I ended up with pieces all over the counter. Oddly enough, I found that a butter knife works well. Just place it over the score line on the pill and apply even pressure.

I must say that the butter knife worked FABULOUSLY! THe steak knife is what crushed the pill into a zillion pieces.

Yay! I'm glad it worked for you (and your cat!). :)
