We are leaving on thursday. I have a lot of snacks, PB& J, crackers, cereal, water. I did not want to carry on and I was advised not to pack in the check in luggage.
my question is can I pack a cardboard box and check that ? I can write food on it. I was told it may freeze but it isn't a long flight, boston to orlando with a stop in NY.
any ideas ?

Some people do this however, you may want to check with your resort first. Some resorts do not accomodate this. We kept our snacks to a minimum and never even needed them except the poptarts anyway! But, I put them in a checked suitcase and never had a problem. I didn't bring any beverages though.

I've heard (ok it was my sister) of somebody UPSing the box to the resort. She packed in the snacks, as well as extra diapers and wipes, etc. AND -- this is key --- a roll of packing tape and a return mailing label!

The box was waiting for her upon checkin, and she was able to fill the box with packing overflow and left it at the front desk for UPS pickup when she checked out.

I packed snacks in my son's carry on luggage. We traveled from Cincinnati to Orlando in April. They were fine! On the return trip we put our souveniors in the carry on! Worked out great! :)

i wanted to shipp butt I worry that it will not get there in time or it will be lost

We packed an large extra bag that we did check with nothing but snacks crazy I know but we ate everything and then used the bag for all our souveniors. It worked out great!

We also checked a bag with snacks. It was a suitcase with a "hard shell" and it worked very well- nothing was smached! But wouldn't you know, this was the bag they "forgot" at the airport! They delivered it quickly to our room when they realized it was missing. We too then used the suitcase for the goodies we bought! We are doing the same thing in June!

I stuff small food items among my clothes, etc. Nothing wet-mostly small cereal boxes, pop tarts, etc. Since we have the DDP we'll be mostly eating only bfast in the room. Also, we'll have a vehicle so we usually stop and pick up water, sodas, the day we arrive or next day. The small cereal boxes are great to carry into the parks too for my DD6 snacks.
