how to rent your pts out?

We've always borrowed pts. and for some reason got lucky last year and banked 65. We had planned to use them at HH this March and now need to cancel and won't be able to plan another trip before next Dec. when our pts. will expire. Can someone please give me a "how to" on renting out our pts? I have absolutely no idea how to go about this?

If you have other questions, please ask...otherwise just post your willingness to rent on the Rent/trade Board or respond to someone's request to rent.

Remember, except for doing a transfer, you are not actaully renting points to anyone- you are renting a resrevation made using DVC points.

Place a listing for the number of points and cost per point on the Rent/trade board. Then when someone contacts you, then you arrange payment and cancelation policy. Then I would make the ressie for them, send them the contract, get them to sign and send you the money. After you recieve the money from the indivdiual i would then send them a copy of the ressie confirmation that you recieved from MS...

I think that about covers it. PM if you would like a template of a rental contract...I think I still have mine.

This is a little different solution to your problem, but what we have done is find someone we know who is going to Disney and rent out our points to them. In fact because of the incentive we took when we bought we had quite a few points extra this year, so we rented them out to friends in our hometown and they are able to stay at a deluxe resort for the price of a value or moderate.

We have 3 groups of friends all going in the next couple of weeks on our points staying at the BCV. It is great because they know us and we know them so you don't have to worry about renting to strangers.

Just my opinion, it has been a great way for us to make some money and make our friends happy.
