Hello Everyone ........ I wanted to share this information with my friends on the Camping Forum!

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=36258092&posted=1&nojs=1#goto_threadtools

Last night I was on the 'Disboards' and when I clicked on 'New Posts' I saw this thread on "How to Receive a PIN". After reading the information that was posted I tried it last night and sure enough it did work! I received our first PIN number around 4:00pm this afternoon. After vacationing at WDW for over 37+ years I believe this is the first PIN number we have ever received!

I hope this information will help you get a PIN number if you have not been able to get one in the past!

Good Luck!

what is PIN for?

Hello Srackangast ........ The PIN number we received was for a 20%, 30% or 40% discount on room rates! You do not have to buy Park Tickets in order to receive this discount. I am not sure if the discounts are honored for the campsites at Fort Wilderness or not but I believe that they do apply to the
Cabins at FW.

Save 20%*
at Disney Value Resorts!

Save 30%*
at Disney Moderate Resorts!

Save 40%*
at Disney Deluxe Resorts & Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts!

For stays most nights:
4/11/10–7/1/10
7/5/10–10/7/10
10/11/10–11/23/10
11/28/10–12/16/10

I hope this answers your question.

Can you post the thread that give "instructions" or directions? I see that people are talking about creating iteneraries..where are these iteneraries? on the DisneyParks website? I saw references to"the thread that explained how to" but never saw a link to that thread or mention of where that thread was located.

Some helpful hints? I hope?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There seems to be a little confusion about what information to enter, and where to enter it. I too, was confused about what to do, until beautiful tomorrow explained the difference to me. I would like to attempt to provide some assistance in navigating through the Disney site, and saving an itinerary. Again, as it has been said, this is by no means a guaranteed way to get a pin code, but many have tried it and gotten one, so I guess it never hurts to try.

Okay! Go to Disneyworld.com, and on the left hand side at the top, you will see "Sign in or create an account". This post will start with people who already have an account. If you don't already have one, simply follow the prompts to create your own log in. Some people have tried using different email addresses than the ones they have previously used. It seems that this may be part of the trick, but I cannot say so for sure.

After you log in, still at the top of the page, near the center, you will see My Disney Vacation. Click on that. Scroll down a little, and you will see Build a New Itinerary (it's small and easy to miss imo). Click on that, and it will ask you for a bunch of information:

1)Enter a name for your vacation (call it anything you want to)

2)Travel dates (note! do not click on the little calendar!! There is a glitch in the website that will take you to a page that says not available - so just enter the dates with the pull down menu)
Enter dates for this year.

3)Travel party (number of adults and children)

4)Do you need accomodations? Yes or No (The default is pre-set to yes, so leave it that way)

5)Do you need park tickets? Same as #4

Click on continue in the lower right corner of the box you are in. My computer blocks pop-ups, so all the times I have done it for my friends and co-workers, I have not done anything further. I know that if you allow pop-ups, you will get another window asking lots of questions about accomodations. I cannot offer advice about what to do with this additional pop up window. I have read numerous posts where people enter different types of information, and posts where people have not entered any information at all. For me personally, as I said, I did not do anything further than continue. Without the pop up, it will say that you have a saved itinerary.

This is something completely different from saving an offer (which is where you navigate through the reservation system), and save a priced vacation offer. I have done this as well many times, for many people, and it does not seem to "trigger" the pin code email.

So.....I hope this information helps a little bit. I know that not everyone is guaranteed a pin code email, but my thought is that every little bit helps, so good luck! If anyone has additional information, please add, as I am certainly not the expert. I just wanted to share what little I had.

I hope this information will help! If not please let me know.

Disney does not discount campsites. I have talked to many a CM about that one...

I received a discount of 25% for August 2010. I went on the web sit and clicked on specials. When I did it asked where you wanted to stay and I picked Fort Wilderness and it then brought up the area to choose cabins or campground. I chose campground, not a package either, and plugged in my dates and it gave me the discount. I then called the reservation number so I could give all the important information that you cannot put in on line. What really surprised me is that the promotion was over August 14, but as long as you began you stay by that day, the discount applied. This is one of the first times I have seen the discount for the campsites.

Hello figmentfan1 ........... Thanks for the information you posted concerning the PIN code discounts not being available for the campsites.

I thought it might be helpful if I contacted Disney Destinations Central Reservations and ask which Resorts the PIN code discount could be used at. Based on what the CM shared with me the PIN code that we were sent could be used at most all Value, Moderate and Deluxe Resorts as well as the Cabins at Fort Wilderness but as you shared in your post not available for campsites. She also stated, which I already knew that the discounts were available for most nights thru December 16th, 2010 with certain blackout holiday dates and were based on availability.

I was not sure if the PIN discount applied to the campsites or not when I posted the thread. I knew on most of our vacations over the years at Fort Wilderness we were able to get the 'AAA' discount on our campsites but I did not know about the PIN code discount since this is our first PIN code.

I apologize if my original post was confusing and I appreciate figmentfan1's help in clarifying this information!

Thanks Again!

There are various discounts for the campgrounds. But certain ones that state "value, moderate, deluxe" will generally not apply for the campsites. Now if you get a general pin code for say 15%,20%,30% or whatever, then you can apply it to the campgrounds.

You can also get passholder and AAA discount at the campgrounds if it is available.

Not necessarily true. I have seen people post on here about getting campsite discounts several times. Last year we stayed at the Fort when Disney offered their 5 day free passes for the military. DH and I, along with our friends also military, booked campsites and got a 40% discount on them starting on Saturday following Thanksgiving.

We got the military discounts also. I was hoping it would happen again this year but I guess they figured out it would cost them too much to give something back to the military folks.

They have a 40% military special going on now. I'm not sure if it is avaialble for campsites, but it's worth checking into. There is also a ticket discount available. I think it is until the end of September and the possible code is OUQ, but you probably don't need that. I also read about a 20% at shades of green. You might want to sign up for e-mail updates at mousesavers.com, I think I have that right. They give you all the discount information that is available and how to access it. Hope this helps.:tigger::tigger:

Hello figmentfan1 .......... I just remembered that the 15% discount we are receiving off of our campsite for our May trip is not a 'AAA' discount. When I first booked the reservation I was able to get the 'AAA' discount applied to our campsite. I felt sure that we were going to renew our 'AAA' Membership prior to our trip but just in case we didn't I checked the Disney.com website and found a special promotion listed for the dates we needed in May. I called Disney Central Reservations back and they were happy to change our reservation to reflect the special promotion 15% discount versus the 'AAA' discount.

I guess based on our experience as well as others some discounts do apply for campsites and some don't. It must depend on the type of offer it is and I am sure like everything else things to change depending on Disney's need to fill campsites and rooms!

I am a firm believer that receiving any discount is much better then paying full price!

Thanks Again,

Doug / datgrt@fw

Well the strategy worked for getting our first pin ever but unfortunately I wasn't able to apply it to our campsite for our November trip. The CM said most pins don't apply to the campsites. I am not giving up though. Hoping for a fall promo to get a discount or maybe a AAA opening up. I always feel better when I can save some money even if it is just a little and I will just spend it somewhere else at Disney. :rotfl:
