My daughter is doing a speech tomorrow about webkinz and she has to include a board with visual aids. She would like to print a few things from webkins that she is talking about in her speech.

I used to have 3 buttons that would appear in anything that I do on my computer that let's you take a "picture" and print it. (It would do a shutter click a camera.) It made it so easy to do screen prints.

In any case--how do i get this buttons back and if I can't--how can I do a screen print.

I have a 3 year old laptop with Windows (XP I think).

Thanks.

Hit CTRL+ Print Screen. Open paint and edit button on top. Choose Paste.

You can trim it in paint also to center it.

ETA: I don't know about the buttons you are talking about. Can't help there.

Also have you tried just right clicking on the picture and copying it/saving it to the desktop to print?

You can also paste the picture into Word or PowerPoint using the same method that Dawson provided above.

If you only want the window you are in (when using multiple windows) use ALT Print Screen. It uses less memory and only copies the screen you are currently in. I have two screens at work and if I am putting the print screen in an e-mail to conserve memory and make it easier to do I always use the ALT option.

Okay-we got it. I have so many keys popped off, it is not funny.

I googled a picture of my keyboard to find these magical buttons you guys are talking about and finally got it to do what we needed.

Thanks!

The built-in Windows screen capture utility is good for very basic things, but for nice additional functions I really like SnagIt. You can download a full-featured 30-day trial version for free at http://www.techsmith.com/download/snagittrial.asp
(It's $50 to buy a permanent copy.)

The program lets you easily do cool things like add word balloons, pointer arrows, deckle or fade edges, all that kind of neat stuff. I use it all the time when I create software demos.

Or you can paste it into any photo editing program you have that lets you create photos. This way you can edit down to just the part of the screen capture you want. Create a new photo, copy and paste in section, get rid of the screen capture with the extraneous stuff, and replace.

** :teeth: This also works great on those webpages that you can't right mouse click on to save. Do a screen capture, save the section you need. As an artist, I do that when I see an inspiring image I want to keep for personal reference, but would never use or redistribute.
