How to Prevent Fogging Glasses and 3D Glasses Due to Masks

As someone who personally wears prescription glasses on a regular bases I put my mask on and place the glasses directly on top of the mask. Essentially the glasses go slightly more on the bridge of the nose and make sure they're securely on top of the mask. As someone who doesn't do this regularly might need to adjust and play with it to get it just right so it's not too low on the bridge of the nose. However, this will fix the fog issue as I do it regularly with my own glasses.

Post might quickly disappear on the first page, as this seems more information based and not so much topic based, but seen this complaint on here and on other websites seen this brought up as an issue multiple times. On other sites (not here) I've seen people reply admitting they do not have a solution, giving sarcastic advice, or some also giving more complicated solutions. So, felt it was best to just make a post about it so if someone comes across here to bring it up, or ask about it, it's already here.

I was getting fitted for glasses last week at target optical and during the 30 minutes I was there , 4 different people came in and asked if they had any of the anti fogging spray , apparently it’s so popular as soon as they optical shop gets a shipment they sell out . I have not used it but have my name down for the next shipment to try it .

I didn't know about that one. Make sure to give us an update! Most people who make the comments may not wear glasses period so thought I'd mention it.

As I even saw someone ask specifically somewhere about something that attaches to your glasses (like a fan?) to prevent them from fogging. Almost sounded made up to me. However, someone replied that wasn't acceptable and to me, regardless that sounded too complicated to deal with. Especially if you do not wear them regularly you should be able to do something simple and efficient to stop 3D glasses from fogging.

I use anti fog spray- bought on amazon- also set the mask right under my glasses to keep from fogging. Why is that a funny question? I'm guessing a lot of people have this issue

I have finally found a good position match for my glasses and my mask-making pattern, but by far the best way I've found to prevent fog is an anti-fog substance I bought off Amazon. It comes in a bottle like eyedrops and you put a couple drops on each side of each lens. My partner was having a lot of problems with fogging and couldn't find a good position, but this helped a lot. I use it if I will be in a situation where I can't adjust my mask easily and resanitize, or if I'll be wearing my mask while driving at all. It's been great.

You can buy Cat Crap (yes, it's a real brand name) defogging spray at Walmart Optical or Amazon. I have mixed results with it, but it's what hubby used when he was a Scoutmaster.

My son swears by dipping his glasses in a solution of water and Dawn dish soap; he actually has to wear a mask for his whole work shift in raging hot temps, and he says this works better than anything else they've tried at his workplace.

I have seen a nose piece that is supposed to funnel the moist air from your nostrils out to the side and below, but man, did it look funny and probably uncomfortable. It keeps showing on my facebook feed.

As a newbie glasses wearer...Almost a year, I've been forced to figure it out as well. Different mask have different results on me. As my lenses are progressive, I'm still learning to position correctly so I can see and not fog up...too much. It's a whole new challenge lol.

I was going to suggest the same brand. You can find it in sporting goods section.
We buy it for our ski googles

Not a funny question, just wanted to put it out there as I've seen people comment mainly about the 3D glasses being a fogging issue. A lot of glasses wearers (I should say for the most part, because my parents still have issues) have found a solution by now, however, most people who wear 3D glasses who are having these issues do not wear them regularly. So wanted to bring this up as a solution and any other recommendations people had to prevent the issue if they go to the park regularly, or if they're planning a Universal trip.

That's an old scuba diving trick - the masks frequently fog up underwater. In my old diving days there was usually a bottle of dawn on the boat for this purpose.

I didn't use that trick on my recent trip but I can vouch for it working otherwise.

I wear glasses and agree that pulling the mask up and having your regular glasses/sunglasses slightly lower reduces or eliminates fogging. However, it has been my experience that the 3D glasses fog up much quicker & easier and once they fog up, it takes much longer for them to clear than regular spectacles. I was a big problem for us on our trip and I wear glasses without issue all the time.
