I've got less than a month until my trip to WDW :yay: and I've got myself seriously planned out for really long days in the parks. I've been working to increase my theme park stamina by walking an hour or more a day in my snazzy, new awesome walking shoes. :goodvibes Other than trying to get a prescription for adderall or something from my doctor, :rotfl: any DISers have any tips for getting in better shape for my trip? :surfweb:

Are your walking shoes the only shoes you plan to wear while you are there? I'd also walk in a back up pair of shoes and make sure you take some if possible. The first year I bought new shoes specifically for WDW, I ended up with blisters and did not have a second pair of shoes to relieve my feet!

I don't really have any other tips as far as getting into shape for your trip, but just make sure you try to take breaks and sit for a bit while in the parks so you don't over do it and end up in pain the rest of the week! Take some ibuprofen or Tylenol! :)

We've found that by slowing down and actually seeing and feeling the parks made it easier on our body....Disneyworld is not just doing commando.....enjoy the mood, the surrounding.....

I also found switching footwear mid day better for my feet....say, tennis shoes morning and flip flops (yes, cheap old flip flops) for the evening.....I get more pain in my shin than anything...it's from the hurried stopping.....good luck!

I destroyed my feet several years ago, so my first Disney trip was absolute misery to my feet. I was ready for the next one! I did the shoe change mid-day too. I usually tried to last in my tennies until around 4 PM and then changed into my Crocs Capris. Oh, and I used moisture wicking socks b/c I do not like hot feet!
